Hey any1 i really want to lower my ride but have no idea what springs to get i looked on ebay and there is some reallycheap 1's on there but what do I look for idont want to go really low either!
thanks

you get what u pay 4 on springs as most of the cost is material lol so get a quality name brand spring like eibach and u wont b sry lol

i would stay away from the no name brands on ebay like jdm springs or whatever... there were a bunch of tien knockoffs selling on ebay until tein sued their ass' and there were some raids on some manufacturing areas in china... anyways name brand like H&R, Eibach, Tein, progress etc... are what i would go for and i would try to buy from a reputable vendor like the ones we have on the forum as the name brand springs aren't going to be anycheaper on ebay once shipping is calculated in... try www.protegegarage.com and check out your options but i would say around 2 bills is normal for springs...

I say use the Mazdaspeed ones, doesnt drop you too much, doesnt sacrifice the ride much at all, and comes with the camber links, I lowered my 06 m3 with those and was very happy

How much is the MazdaSpeed kit going for though?

mazdaspeed kit for the MS3 lowers car 15mm. Which is very little. The springs are 30% stiffer though.

30% stiffer, geez, I find that the Mazdas are already quite stiff. Or am I the only one that feels that way?

For a regular 3 it is a 33mm drop, comes with the camber links and is 499.00 list

Why is it so much more for the regular 3?

15 inch "rims" hahah so if you kept those you would have to drop a lot. that's why when you upgrade you can go to 18's and get away with not dropping i think. i think mazda realized a lot of people would want to upgrade the rims later if all they could afford then was the hubcaps so they left the room maybe?

^lots of room =)

hehe...yes, very much indeed!!! I have 17" stocks on mine, the gap isn't too bad, but still noticeable.

taking my ms3 to get lowering springs put on it today. My car is the test mule for roadmagnet.com and they are looking for user input before making the final versions. Any local 3 or ms3 drivers that want to come for a ride some time next week and give their $.02, let me know!

A friend of mine has Mazdaspeed Springs installed on his MS6. It's in the weeds. Dropped it about 2 inches or so. (his est.)

I wonder why the MS3 springs only list a 15mm drop. Does that sound right?

I believe the ride height of the ms6 is significantly higher than the ms3 is stock. I'm sure you are aware of the really low front valence on the ms3, so anything more than .5" - .75" would probly destroy the front end

Hey Jbiird,

I would love to come down or meet ya somewhere to test out those springs and let ya know what I think. Give me a call....I'll PM ya my #

I just called my local Mazda dealer.

They said, $567 CDN ($489US) for the MazdaSpeed spring set incl. camber links. (The kit lowers 28-33mm, depending on model)

For full install (incl. alignment) $970 CDN ($840 US) incl. taxes.

What you guys think?

... You can almost get full coilovers for that price...

Your dealer is gouging you.

Sure, but then I still have to install them!
Not that I am going to get springs anytime soon - no cash :(
