Lowering under warranty

I am sooo pissed. All I really wanted to do this summer was lower my car, so it would have that more aggressive look and I think it would look so much better(especially with the aftermarket wheels if it was lowered) than the stock height. So I went to Mazda to talk to them about it, and if I lower my car, it voids all the suspension warranties. So I asked to buy some Mazdaspeed springs. They told me I can't just buy the springs, or they too will void the warranty. I had to get the whole kit, with the Tokico struts and springs and stuff. So I asked how much that would set me back, and they said 2 grand! I was like **** that, and walked out. Now, I'm screwed as to a summer project, and I'm seriously urked now that the one goal I had was ruined. Damn, I'm really sorry for posting this, but I had to vent somehow. (hand)

And what's the chances with something going wrong with ur suspension that u will need warranty on? If u get some aftermarket ones, I would assume if something went wrong, u can place the stock ones back on right? I dunno I may be wrong but thats what I would think/do.

Its more a matter of getting the Dad to let me now. He's so agaist me lowering it after I wrecked earlier on when I had first bought it.

would he even notice if u just got springs and lowered it? Thats kinda weird, ur dad wouldn't let u lower the car yet he let u do the exhaust, intake, and rims?

I agree, just lower it because I am and my dad wants my car to be BONE-STOCK but too bad. As long as ur not like lowering so far down so you only see half of the rim/tire then ur fine I would think.

What dealership was this? I go to Rosenthal Arlington and they noticed mine but haven't said anything about them yet.

my dealership compliments my car... oh well.. find a dealership that isn't out to screw you.... whats really dumb is that they get paid REGARDLESS, so why do they make such a huge deal about it... as long as you dont bring in the car that was damaged due to your own stupidity and try to have it fixed under warrantee (very disshonest IMO) then they shouldn't worry...

And they wont, they just annotate the things that they notice on there computers and wait, however if something does happen they have a record of what they saw done to the vehicle, and use it against you later... The maintenance fellas at the dealership arent dumb they just bide there time and wait to see if something happens

You could easily get the same components and install them yourself for under 500 bucks or so. The MP3 springs are cheap, buy 'em used (I paid $95), the tokicos are $300+ shipping.

Dang, thought Bill Britt was little nicer than that. But his dad isn't stupid and will notice it right away! Though the chances of suspension hurting the car is very light.
Argh thats annoying.
