Lowering springs or coilovers?

Just do it pls.

Btw-price is closer to $400 for H&R's w/o labor and alighnment.

Actually it's a little less then that, Corksports has the listed at 259.00$.

Not sure if we could get a better deal but its worth asking. Even getting free shipping would be nice.

I dont like the 22" look on the CX5 but the wheel look's good, i would probably get some 19 or 20 with a nice 1.5 2.0 drop.

Still trying to find some pic's of a CX5 with a drop like the corksport kit. I think it's 1.25 in front and 1.75 in rear.

If anyone find some pic's of that set-up post it please, i really want to see how it look's.

Anybody know if a range between 1-1.5 inch drop requires any camber related adjustments? Wouldn't mind getting quality lowering springs if it were as simple as swapping out oems for aftermarket ones.

Alignment should be done after installation. Revised alignment specs should come with lowering springs.

lowering will increase camber and change your toe (usually out, depending on where your tie rods mount on the hub)

so yes, unless you want to wear out your tires in a few hundred miles, get an alignment.

a little extra camber wont wear your tires TOO much, toe is what really kills tires.

Good morning,

Has anyone here actually installed the lowering springs yet? I am interested to hear some feedback from someone who has them on their car.

Thanks

David

I have been wanting to drop the car since day one. I like the sport feeling of the cx5 but a little more would be nice. The cx5 feel more like a tall sedan then a suv since its so light for it size. I have had a few diff cars and all of them have been dropped including my past two audis and current s4.

Welcome tomtom. Any other plans for changes to your new CX-5?

We are in the works of developing lowering springs for the CX-5. We have some development springs on our project car now. They are lower than the production springs we are developing will likely be. It is a pretty significant drop with the dev springs that are on there now.

IS this a 3" drop ? It looks pretty good and has Corksport stopped the idea of making them or possible coilovers?

I will be getting these very soon. I would also like to get those camber adjusters, when they come out.

how many of you have put in a warranty claim on a suspension bit? exactly.

Exactly. And if the warranty issue has nothing to do with suspension, not applicable.

For example a defective battery is covered under warranty, no matter what suspension is on the vehicle.

Been 2 years since this thread was started, where's the coilovers on one of our CX-5's here...

I tried to buy some coil-over from Japan recently but with the Malaysia airlines issue the Airfreight companies in Japan refuse to ship these sorts of things, even sea freight peeps are not keen, All need an MSDS for freight but most companies do not supply these wit the coilovers. THe 3 companies I tried who have sent me parts before keep saying I need to simply buy locally.

A few new options tho
