Low Offset People - 42 and under

Is anyone running wheels on their Protege (3rd gen including protege5) that are +42 offset or less?

If so does the wheel stick out past the fender at all?

I am not concerned about rubbing at the moment, only how far out the wheel sits.

Running 215 40/17 w/ a 42 offset rim. No rub and great beefy look. fills out the fender flares well see pics at the webpage at the bottom.

We are running 205/40/17's on a 42mm offset. We are also running the Eibach Pro-kit and we have experienced no rub or anything like that. I also like the way the tire sets in the well, fills it up real nice. Can't wait to put the T-Bones back on.

Wow, +42! The only way that's remotely possible is if it's 7" wide rims...right?

Yep, they are Nippon Racing GTX T-Bone 10's in 17" X 7" and a +42 mm offset. I will admit, when we were putting the lowering springs on (yes, my wife wanted to help, she's cool like that) I was really concerned that it was gonna rub. We often drive with 4 people in the car and on several occassions with a full hatch and 4 people and have not rubbed. :D

Yeah so .. am I stupid for wanting to fit 15x7.5 +43mm ??

Just heard from a guy who has 17x7.5 +38mm wheels and they rub of course, but do not stick past the fender.

Yea, I would think there is a good possibility of rubbing, unless you run a real low profile tire. I am gonna post a pic of the wife's car (hopefully, it's been a while) so you can see the clearance. It is not a great angle, but you can see that they clear with no problem.

Well I would probably be running 205/50-15's to start and maybe move up to 225/50-15's or 225/45-15's.
I guess I would be screwing myself for the move to wider rubber though as the 205/50 is an inch smaller than stock so should clear ok, but 225/50 is almost the exact same size as stock .. and would probably end up rubbing...

Yea, we drove a little, lol. We picked up the Super Street Tour for the second year in a row and it was a lotta fun. There were a few mis-haps and close calls, but still mucho fun. Don't know if you saw the blue 240SX setting next to her car at the show, but that is her car too, sort of. She got a new altima a few years back and I took over that and started playing with it. Then when it came time to get her another new car, we wanted something that was functional and she wanted something that she could make "cool", lol. She keeps bugging me to get our taxes turned in, cause she wants a CF hood, and I want to replace the axle back exhaust on it with a full cat-back. Yea, it is cool that she is into cars, but now it costs double!! Oh well, I can deal with it. :p
