Low Idle/Hard Starting

My 323 GT used to idle perfectly but the last while it's been idling at around 500rpm. When I start it up, it cranks and then barely sputters to life. When I start it after the engine is hot, it takes quite a few cranks and I have to give it a bit of gas to get going. If there's any sudden throttle increase from idle it stalls. I tested to fuel system and the pressure is low and drops to zero after I shut the car off. Anybody have some input?

First I would check your entire intake routing. I had the same problem on my GT, and my J pipe (Turbo inlet pipe) was loose, and so was the throttlebody pipe. Also make sure your BOV is working correctly, if its stuck open, or having leak issues, it will cuase problems. But if your fuel pressure is at zero, that sounds like your first major issue to check, possibly a fuel pump issue. But in the mean time, I would check what I had mentioned.

I say, go to a trusted mechanic, and see what they find wrong with it(which should be free), then take it home and fix it yourself.

I'll check all the piping and BOV. I just replaced the fuel pump with a Walbro 255; I'll start looking at the pressure regulator and injectors next.

I have access to all the diagnostic tools mechanics have so I don't see the need to take it in.
