Low Boost and check engine Light

If your throwing a CEL with too lean of conditions have you ever thought that the problem was your fuel pump? They had an issue with some earlier '07 speed 3's and actually changed the fuel pump design, although your car is an 08.5 this might not be the case.

But the ECU would definitely turn down the boost if it wasn't getting enough fuel pressure. I'm going through a similar problem, don't have a dashhawk to actually check my #'s but it's going in to dealer next week.

This was actually one of the first things I checked. My OBDII reader is capable of reading live numbers so I checked my pressures at idle and at WOT and everything was where it should be. And my car is an early 2008 model. built in october of 07'...

drove about 200 miles, still no CEL... I'll check my boost numbers again when i get an extra minute and post up if they have improved or not.

CEL is back... I'm going to look into buying a new fuel pump and new spark plugs. (spark plugs just because, I don't think that's the problem.) Since my in tank fuel pump seems to be re-priming more than usual that's where I'm going to look first.

Update- light turned on after about 200 miles of driving then turned off after about 300... So no light at the moment. Will update if it turns back on and continue the process. But as of now this thread might be done. Thanks Everyone for the help.

i been dealing with this code for a very long time (almost a year now), i still can not find out what was the problem....sometime my rpm goes up and down when its cold but only when car just start...weird???

I had major "sluggish" issues with my car about a month after I bought it. Sluggish meaning my previous 02 Sentra SE-R Spec V would have kicked it's ass. Then the CEL came. Car ran fine, but dick all for power. I had no way of checking it, so I took it back to the dealer. It turned out to be the Purge Solenoid Valve. Car ran minty after that.

^ yep, that's a very common issue.

OP, do the troubleshooting steps in the factory service manual. i don't recommend you throwing parts at it because 9/10 times it doesn't fix anything. i got my FSM in PDF from another forum. i usually purchase them.
