Loud Fuel Pump?

:
2012 Mazda 2 Touring
I have asked this question under another post but didn't really get much of a response from it so I decided to make a dedicated thread for ease of search later on.

When my Mazda 2 gets down to around 2 bars of gas my fuel pump gets really loud at idle. When the car is moving you cant really hear it but when I idle at a light I can definitely hear the drone of the pump. Its a distinct noise and it is identifiable because its coming from around the rear of the car and its much louder inside than out. I searched the forums and found one other instance of someone stating that it was loud. Is this normal? Or do I need to make a trip to my dealer to exercise my warranty?

Thanks for the quick response! It is silent when submerged so I guess I am good.

Yep, and that's also why Mazda recommends in the owner's manual to fill the tank when it's only 1/4 full, not letting it go down to E...the gas in the tank is used to keep the pump cool.
