Took a trip to Atlanta this week. I had some close friends who were picking up their new Elise so I drove them down. We came back to Kentucky by way of the dragon. (Deal's Gap, North Carolina) Anywho, here are a few pics...

OMG(omg)
I have never seen so much money in cars in one building (shocked)

lambos galore, Elise, GT3:D

r u kidding me? the MSP would be completely obliterated handlingwise AND straightline. More hp AND less weight for the elise ;)

Haha that is another opinion on the matter lol. I remember reading several articles on the car. It had good handling but it didn't blow me away or anything, I actually expected a little more out of it. Flame away if you please lol.

Ditto on that. As stellar as the handling of the MSP is, the Elise is in a class by itself. A front wheel drive car, no matter how good it handles, will never equate to the mid-egine, rear drive, light as a feather layout that the elise has. The Elise is what my mr-2 wants to be when it grows up ;)

the elise will spank a pro on the dragon, the lighter weight, better chassis and no turbo lag will quickly let it walk away....dont get me wrong, our cars can handle like champs, but as was said "an elise in a class all its own" or somthing like that

I would think his would. Not by a ton but I bet he'd walk away slowly in the turns.

Slowly? 190hp and <2000 lbs would leave ANY Mazda in the dust.

I drove the Euro-spec version with only about 150hp and it made the Mazda feel like a river barge in comparison.

actually the, british elise makes 170 with the vvti and 190 in the exige.

Is that a black exige?? my #1 favorite car evar. She will be mine, oh yes, she will.

According to Lotus U.K., the base model is 120hp
http://www.lotus-usa.com/pdf/04_Elise_Brochure(Elise).pdf

The 111s is 156hp
http://www.lotus-usa.com/pdf/04_Elise_Brochure_(Elise_111s).pdf

And the 111R is 189hp

They don't make the Exige anymore, so there's no factory specs on the web page but according to some articles on the web site, the range for that was 178hp-192hp, depending on what factory accessories were installed.

Anyway, my brother works for them so he gets to bring home demos every once in a while. (2thumbs)

mmmm.....190HP, ~1500 lbs, midengine, rwd.....fun, fun, fun till the cops take your license away

ProV- yep, I know. My first post was regarding the U.S.-spec model. The U.K. specs were in line with where the conversation was going regarding the one that I drove personally.

Pro5- it's actually 1975 lbs, not ~1500. You're putting it in for a 25% weight reduction, already? ;) It's still about the best power-to-weight ratio you can get, though.

The black one is just hawt. It's dressed for a funeral and the funeral is for any car within it's price range out on a road track. It's not going to pull down ungodly numbers but just look at the sticker for the amount of sexy car you get. Yes please (naughty)
