Doesn't it look like a Vibe? (I'm sure I'm not the first to notice)

yeah, just like before -

I like the sedan,

the wagon - not so much.

Too Soccer Mom-ish. Just like the Protege5

Can someone photoshop an MP3/P5/MSP bumper onto the Mazda3. I really like the bigger foglights. It's more agressive. That's all the M3 needs, that and lowering.

Is it supposed to be cheaper than a PR5?! It has a navigation system and a bigger engine!

the front end of the wagon is gay. lower it with a new front... good to go. sedan i think is to big, looks like a corolla and crap. ugh.

ill take the new miata though... mmmmmm.

my concern with the new mazda3 is the gearing, the p5 gearing is so long and slow, but the mazda3 is ultra short gearing, that is really gonna start to make me hate my car.

Mazda made the p5 wagno thinking only 30 yr old peeps would buy it, and geared it like... a wagon. The mazda3 they built to satisfy all the people buying it for the sportiness. If it's enough better I may have to own my p5 and the new mazda3. hmm,

Interesting. I really like short gearing, personally. Torque is my buddy... hehehe :)

but do the P5 and the Mazda 3 gear ratios really differ THAT much?

I dig the sedan... somewhat. I dunno why, but this new 3 sedan (and a 6 to a degree) somehow lacks some design lines that would make you look at it. It is somehow... generic, IMHO. When I look at it, I am not sure where to look somehow, as I am trying to find the character line and am looking for it (geez, I wonder if that will make sense to anyone?)

But the sedan is definitely nicer to see than the 5 door. Compared to P5, they blew that one. We'll keep the P5 for a while. But then again, I am one of those 30 year old peeps :)

Boys, i looked at the spec, for the manual, and the gear ratios are the same that my old defund trusty 2000 touring with 1.8L, same as the 2.0L in later models... just different than the 2000 1.6L (and i suppose later model)

Same gearing, (with the same Sloooowww and long second speed) , but with bigger wheels....

The engine should rev lower at 120-140kmh, and that's good news!

However ,both engine's are more punchy so it will compensate on the lack of juice we had on older proteg's

CANT WAIT TO GET MY GT GFX Sedan Ti!

-Really missing my 1.8L 2000 LX Touring

Woohoo...I got mine from ALBI and I get next week. They are receiving 50 of them tomorow! Nice to be close to the biggest Mazda dealer in the world. :D

Welcome to our board and congrats on your purchase.

But you know we require pictures right? The more the better - like all the colours your dealer's getting, hint hint ;)
