Lost Only Key; Is Dealer Only/Best Option For Replacement?

Hi all,

I have a 2004 Mazda6, and after a great party at my friend's house, my keys turned up missing (yes, the only set). I called a locksmith, but he tells me it's a special chipped key, and it'll be $150-$250 for the replacement.

Does anyone know how much these keys are at the dealership (all parts/service is closed on Sundays, here)? Is there another, better solution for getting my key made?

Thanks in advance.

the dealership is the only place you'll be able to get a key cut without a spare to copy from...

good luck looking for your key

Only the dealer can cut the key for you, total cost if you get the remote also would be around 300.00 because you have to cut the key and program the key to the car, and add for the cost of a tow truck to take the car to the dealership.
