SkinnyJoint said:o nice one you got me good. wtf you can get hit in your car, you can get hit on a bike whatever, sure maybe your chances are a bit greater on a bike but you only live once and i try to make mine as memorible and satisfying as possible, riding on a bike is like no other natural high......
so take your fears and your statistics and mind ya bidness
Haven't been hit yet have you... Only two types of motorcycle riders out there... those that have gone down and those that will go down.
Been there done that personally. I'm well aware of what it is like to ride a bike... and frankly hands down driving a fully tuned car on track far exceeds the high of riding a bike any day... remember.. one **** up on the bike by your or anyone around you and that can be it... odds of that in the car are a whole hell of a lot lower. Also keep in mind some day there are going to be kids, girlfriends, wives, family etc that will think a whole lot differently...
The biggest thing for me is that riding a bike you have to put your trust in other drivers (66% of motorcycle accidents are caused by other vehicles). And frankly we all know the average quality of the cell phone yapping fast food eating idiot on the road these days... I turned around and pulled the money I was putting into bikes, and the money from my accident and put it into the car and never regret a moment of it. One of the best choices and changes in my life I've ever done!
EDIT: And doing a quick check... 26-38 times more likely to die per mile driven isn't "just a bit greater"
