I purchased my 2003 Protege 5 back in October with 43,500 miles. In the time I've owned it I noticed the driver's seat bottom shifts when cornering fairly hard. Upon inspection, it seems to be a looseness/slop in the design of the seat bottom adjustment mechanism. The bolts holding the seat frame to the floor are not loose and the car is 100% stock so I have no concern about it having ever been removed previously by anyone.
I've searched and found a post in th MSP forum regarding a possible revised seat rail here: TSB for Seat Rails. In that thread the mazda number P/N BJOE-88-H50B is listed.
-Is this a typical problem for Protege 5's?
-Is the seat bottom looseness covered under warrany?
-What is P/N BJOE-88-H50B ? Is it a revised part? Is it applicable to the Protege 5?
Any information or help is appreciated....
-edit: Try to keep this thread technical and limit the amount of 'me too' and other less useful replies. It makes it extremely hard to find anything when searching.
