Looking to sue Mazda in a class action

If you want to cite your sources (post links to the lawsuits you're referring to, links to the forum member posts you've found, and FB posts of people who have had this issue), that would help your case a lot. You'll need to provide all that info anyway if you plan to move forward with a lawsuit of your own.

I do find it interesting that you're willing to spend money on a lawsuit, but you won't spend a few bucks to further diagnose the issue and repair it. You'd have to do that no matter what, if you wanted to continue driving your car as your lawsuit progresses.

Anyway, some suggestions have been made by @RattleCanAR and @Z31 that may provide further insight into what could be causing the problem. I recommend at least looking into the insight provided so that you can get the problem fixed.
I have noticed that we (owners) approach problems very differently. It has a lot to do with our mentality/experiences. As a DIYer, I appreciate all the insights and suggestions here. The knowledge will help me if/when the same problems develop on my car. For someone who's been well taken care of by a dealership and a car under warranty, this scenario can be devastating.

It sounds like the OP is here to raise awareness and find more plaintiffs to join the class. If there are tons of them already, how many more do they need for the jurisdiction?

Considering this the first time I have seen such a post on this forum or www.mazdaforum.com it can't be very common. He said I should look on more forums? Where? These are the most heavily trafficked Mazda forums. If it was going to show up, it would be on these forums. I hope he continues to update, as I expect this will go nowhere. Better to try a lemon law case as it's likely just his rare luck he got a car with issues. I mean, I have had a CX-5 since 2019 and have always been on the forums. I don't see other posts about his issue.

I just took it to the dealer!! It’s crazy how they said everything was fine. Mazda is in contact with the dealership. Because they don’t want to do the repairs under the warranty without charging me more money but Mazda has escalated it and has been sued recently for the bigger model car for this issue!

They didn’t want to check the vehicle and look at the issued without me spending a ton more money. So I reached out to Mazda who said they don’t understand why the servicing isn’t being done, but it’s not wear and tear tbh, it’s a hazard that exists in this car and as I’ve been finding, many others too. It’s not an easy fix. Can cost thousands and it depends on if it’s a warranty covered part or not. But it’s barely been driven. The car shouldn’t just have malfunctions out of no where.

No but I’m getting involved with one.

Warranties are tricky, they don’t just cover everything, it’s not the damage. It’s the matter of it being such a malfunction that it’s causing an unsafe driving condition. It’s not wear and tear, 4 sensors malfunctioning on an car that’s barely been driven isn’t wear and tear,

I’ve actually found tons of people on other forums. And there’s pre existing lawsuits about this. So im sure Mazda is aware!

And yes but I don’t tailgate my traffic! The car isn’t picking up anyone in front of me and it’s also not setting the brakes correctly. My Mazda app gave me a critical safety alert and said do not drive the car, pull over immediately and put wooden blocks in front of the tires, park on flat surface.

Then maybe u haven’t been on enough forums? I’ve already got many people with the issue. U can also do a quick google search on this. It’s on the internet if u know how to use it.

It’s not unheard of for Mazda. Do a google search. I’ve already seen many people on Facebook with the same problem.

Just took it to the dealership who said nothing was wrong with the car and then said I needed to pay a ton more to do a more in depth look….
Ok man. Cool.

Yes, it's an issue. If you escalate this within the dealer or with Mazda Canada, they will fix it for you.

That's why ill never be buying a car with these dumb little electrical nannies. I can maintain my following distance myself.

It's not uncommon for dealers to request money (or state the customer may have to pay) to diagnose something, even if it might be under warranty.

Both times I've brought vehicles in for (what I believe is) warranty work, they told me up front that if it's not covered under the warranty, I'm on the hook to pay diagnostic fees. Luckily they were covered.

They state this because they don't know the actual cause until they look into it. For example, if a rodent chewed through a wire, that wouldn't be covered by warranty.

I did find this thread on reddit. Looks like a few people had similar issue with varying root causes.
I wouldn't say it's a systemic issue though.

I have seen that message in mine before, but not on a regular basis. All sensors have issues sometimes. You should try a new Honda if you think the Mazda's automatic braking is bad. I had a 16 RDX which slammed on the brakes all the time when I was not close to cars at all. It was very aggressive. Mazda's system is tame in comparison.
