I think it's the same motor. Not much to do about that but carry alot of corner speed.

The biggest improvement to the 2-fiddy is the chassis and *finally* 17" wheels you can buy slicks for.

The bore and stroke are the same. Everything else was tuned to increase low end and midrange.

Yeah, but if you could ride anytime you wanted you'd probably get burned out.

I had no car for 3 years. My friends wanted to ride on the weekends and I was burned out from it most of the time. No fun.

Anyways, go for a cruiser man with classic style and a nice sound. If you like to polish and wrench, they are also good for that too. I think a street bike would be a good second bike....

That's true the riding positions on the "superbikes" are a lot more aggressive then the cruisers for obvious reasons which can get tiresome. But for the OP's situation he can really only use the bike maybe 5 months out of the year anyway.

The South is where it's at for bike riding. You can ride here all winter long.

I've had all types of bikes from sport bikes to race bikes to dirt bikes to cruisers to supermoto. I have to say, just for tooling around, the supermoto is the s***, you sit up high and have great torque and handles really well for city type riding. But, for a long distance haul, nothing beats a big cruiser (except maybe a tourer). I had a Yamaha Roadstar and I loved that for just eating up the miles.

I've had every type of bike out there. I like riding them all. Cruisers, sport, GT, sport touring, dual sport, street fighter, you name it.

I know this sounds crazy but you might want to look at the 2008 Kawasaki Ninja 250R, While it isn't the fastest bike it is affordable at about $3,500 brand new. 5.5 sec. 0-60, 50-60 mpg. Might be something to think about as they have come a long way in terms of looks.

Nah . . . I've got one now too . . . I wanted something my wife and I could be comfortable on . . . my last bike was a sport tourer, with a nice touring seat, but I hated having her on the back . . . kept on squishing the boys . . . of course, she liked it more, but whaddya gonna do? I am happier now on my RK, especially with the new engine. I get my modding rocks off on the bike, not the car . . .

I had no car and only the motorcycle for a year. The only time I was 'burned out' was when I had to ride in the rain or in the cold. As a matter of fact, sometimes the only reason I went to work that year was because I got to ride the schexy beast to work.

Damn...that new Ninja 250 is hot! Finally though, they haven't changed in ages. Anyways I had one for my first "sport" bike after a cruiser, and was bored with it in a week. I have an '06 GSX-R 600 now, and I think it would have been easier to learn on it. Too much gear changing on the 250, but damn it looks good now. For the price, you can't beat it. Plus, to hit 110mph you better be going downhill....lol.
