Looking for a good Exhaust

I ditched my Racing Beat for the Greddy SP2 long ago. It does sound wicked when you whomp on it but stock like under normal driving conditions. Most importantly to me it does not drone. Have you thought about having some custom exhaust piping fabbed up and just going with the canister of your choice?

Anything that fits an 01+ Protege will fit the MP3. Most parts are universal between the MP3 and P5, so yes, most stuff for the P5 will fit the MP3.

So if it even says it will fit a P5 2002 and up it will still fit my MP3?

Holy untrue information!! The exhaust will bolt up, but you CAN NOT use a P5 exhaust on a sedan. The sedan is longer, so if you use a P5 exhaust the axleback won't stick out far enough and your exhaust will be released right under the rear bumper. If you get a P5 exhaust, you'll need to take it to a shop so they can extend the tip. The only difference is the axleback/muffler portion.

However, that doesn't mean you can't use any of the other sedan exhaust. All 01-03 sedans can use the same exhaust.. but the P5 has a shorter axleback portion. Hope that helps.

And same thing applies to that exhaust you linked. It's a P5 exhaust so you'll need to have it extended to fit the MP3.

Yea i thought he was referring to the protege as well. The exhaust will have to be modified like krayziefox said if it is for a P5. If it's for the regular protege however, you're all set.

Oh okay I understand. So from 01-03 Protege exhaust I'm set with it fitting, but P5 exhaust I'll have to take it to a shop to get it fit....Got it

Sorry for the wait but i have not recorded the exhaust yet. This weekend was crazy. I will try to get it this week.

I'm personally gonna go with a Megan exhaust. You can listen to a sound clip on youtube. Its on a P5 but it sounds like a WRX and i love that sound

yea thats my car lol
but as far as i know, they dont make a megan exhaust for the sedans so he's out of luck

i like it alot, i just wish the tip was smaller, cuz its like a 4 inch tip, s**** huge lol

EDIT: if u want to hear it anyways, i can go record a video real quick, that one on youtube is old and my car doesnt sound like that anymore lol

Did you have anything else (exhaust wise) installed when you posted the Youtube vid? It sounded great in that, but mine sounded great too, until I installed the new 4-2-1 header.

Yeah I really like the way that Exhaust sounds, but cant get it so that sucks.

I'm thinking about just going with the Greddy SP2 Exhaust or The CS Exhaust.
But I'm going to wait on jonridinhi and see how his sounds when ever he gets a chance to get a video up of his because I would love to have that POP sound.

Got a new camcorder for my bday today and took a vid in cabin of the corksport power series. Stock NA exhaust manifold.

I bought it from another member here so I got a good deal but it is 429 from corksport. Beautiful exhaust with perfect fitment. If you have an OBX header though, it will sound bad like the youtube clip below shows (not my car obviously).

As far as the power increase goes, it's really hard to say. I swapped back to the stock manifold from an OBX header and I had already had a catback. I still felt like the car pulled harder even with the stock mani.
