I just bought a 3.0 liter mazda 6 and I am looking to add an intake system to it. What is the best one to use, and will the car throw a code?

If you go www.therpmstore.com and order CPE's MAFci intake you will get the highest gains in HP & TQ. It does not throw CELS, it isn't the cheapest, but IMHO it is the best. The majority of the V6 owners who have intakes, have this intake on their cars, we have this intake on both our 5 door and our wagon.

This looks like it would void my warranty sense I have to tap wires. How well does this work, and are there any other solution that do not require the tapping of wires?

if you are not looking to tap wires we have a few options;

and none of our customers have complained of CEL codes. i know AEM and K&N went to great lengths to ensure thier systems do not cause CELs though earlier releases had.

I have had the intakes on my 6's for 2 years and they are still under warranty. It works extremely well, as I stated previously the majority of V6 owners have this intake.


If you go to other Mazda 6 forums, you will see how many of us use this intake. We cannot list links to competing boards via posts.

There is a black box that taps into the ECU, that uses the A/F programming that has been set by the OEM in the stock form. You can Mazdaspeeds, Injen, AEM or Fujita.

Just an FYI, my dealership in Ohio carries CPE intakes and other products that they make.

All except Mazdaspeed and CPE have been known to throw CEL's.
