Looking at buying a MSP and want advice? Post here!

Even if the car was accident free, no way it is going to bring 8800. Go to kellybluebook.com and some other sites to find a good buying price. I haven't checked in a while, but I would bet the extra clean MSP's are not selling for more than 7k or so.

its a clean car in and out. I checked edmunds.com and kelley blue book and the suggested retail is $9200 and $9500 i believe, the car is from a dealer and it comes with a 6 month/7500 mile warranty

I assume that car is being sold by a dealership? You can get one a lot cheaper if you buy privately. Did you check the For Sale section on this forum?

sounds a little low to me. maybe bottom of private party value. for trade I would say this is high.

dealer price, I can see this easily.

thats not a bad price for a dealer but most people here wouldnt pay that much. realistically i cant see payin more than 7.5k for most msp's nowadays

theres a guy in NY selling a fully built msp for under 7k. i would buy that

yeah i saw honda eatR msp if thats the one your talking about, but trying to not travel that far that probably 6-7hr drive

there is one on ebay in florida i could probably get for $6800 but i don't like buying something without seeing or driving it first, ps. if anyone is looking at the yellow msp for sale in pa on ebay, be careful the place is somewhat of a scam because its been in an accident you can tell because paint doesn't match on left rear door and front bumper, ripple on left rear quarter also, and motor was replaced with one they have no idea how many miles are on it.

the salesman said it wasn't in any accident but i worked at a body shop and could tell, so i mentioned it to him then he finally admitted it was, and then i tried to have my friend call to see what they told him and they said the motor was blown and replaced but they have no idea the miles on the motor

run.

that is all.

Normally people don't want to buy modified cars, but most MSP's you will find nowadays are already modified, or have been modified at some point in time. If you find one you like on this forum I'm sure most of the regulars will vouch if the member bought quality parts and had it done right. After all, we post the problems we have so others can offer insight, so it's obvious which people cheap out and which do it right the first time. I can say Honda Eatr has some nice quality parts on his car.

Consistently check sites like cars.com and autotrader.com .. and, most important of all, be patient. It can take months to find the car you want.

And like everyone else has said -- a modded MSP isn't necessarily a bad MSP. If the mods are all 'good' ones, then you're gonna wind up ahead of the stock MSPs. But if the mods are 'bad', or not done right, then you could be in for a real sh*tshow.

My MSP was heavily modded -- I redid everything in the engine bay except for the engine block itself -- and the only reason I don't have it anymore is because of a friggin' ginormous snow plow. But there is NO doubt in my mind that my MSP would still be going strong today if it hadn't met an early death.

We can help you separate the good from the bad .. if you can post up links to images of the MSPs you're considering. Shots of the engine bay are key!

EDIT: Found this one on Autotrader already: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...=Manual&max_price=&cardist=176&standard=false

about 120 a month before I added my gf and her truck, but my record sucks.

Well if you have a good driving record, I'm sure you won't have to pay much. If your insurance gives you a high quote, just tell them to google the engine specs and surely they will lower your rate.
