Looked at a 3 last night - questions

I actually went and saw a 3s 5-door in person last night - man that is a cool car. Seems like they really want to deal on them; two dealers now have told me they'd sell at $500 over invoice and give me a very reasonable credit for my trade in.

Two questions:

1) Has anyone seen or heard of the factory minidisc being available? It's listed in the brochure and I've seen a picture but neither dealer seemed to know what the heck I was talking about...this is a must have for me.

2) The dealer I met in person last night was telling me that the leather package has heated seats...but I haven't seen anything about that on the Mazda site or in any of the numerous reviews of the car I've read. Can anyone confirm or deny?

I hate when the dealer seems like he's just telling you what he thinks you want to hear...

I will say that after actually sitting in the car and having some time to check it out, I want one. The fit and finish seems rock solid and ergonomically it's a good fit - I'm a big guy, 6'2", and I was comfy in the backseats even. I'll probably test drive this weekend.

as for the mindisk player, ive seen it in the accessories brochure and theres a spot for it on the dash so ide assume its out. ive never seen one in person though so dont hold me to it. about the heated leather seats, theres no such thing. u can get an aftermarket unit put in but the 3 doesnt come from the factory with heated seats. there very nice cars, i love mine and ur right about the roominess. ive got 2 friends that are pretty tall (6'4-6'5) and they were both amazed by how much leg room there was. the headroom in the back could be a bit more (in the sedan) but oh well.

as for the other stuff I agree with mazda3zoom. Go w/ the 5dr if backseat headroom is a big deal.

dealers often BS. if you do your research using www.kbb.com, www.edmunds.com and the like, you will probably walk in their knowing more about the car than they do. good luck.
