Look at this DOOFUS

hahaha, what a moron.. Even if he did drive a MSP, he still doesn't know how to drive. I can't believe people like that even bother to post reviews. I sure hope he doesn't work for a magazine or car place.

Wow, that person really knows his/her cars...

An MSP handles better than a Mustang?? Now there'a controversial statement.

Btw, what does happen when you turn the car on?

AutoXer: I think if that dude had answered the question to "what happens when you turn on the car?" he would answer, the motor will begin to run. But i think Lawerence wanted him to answer that the head unit would flip over. Am i right Lawerence? ;)

There's one post that i read on that thread, that would cars will be faster in a straight line and take out a V6 tibby? Is this true?
With 2.7 displacement and 6 cyclinders, i think it would beat us. But if this is true, (2thumbs) for us Mazdaspeed Owners.

Keep in mind that guy loves the Tiburon, so no matter what you say to him, he won't be convinced that the MSP is better in someways over the Tiburon. He's been Tiburon washed...
(yawn)

(lol) what a fuggin tool ,man.
I like is eloquent writing stlye......"the MSP is drift car".....(rofl)
What an idiot, thats why he likes the Hyundia ;)

Not to mention overall quality!!! The new Tiburon is good looking (God knows the first Tiburon was a *&%^ing joke!!!), and it so happens my Mazda dealer is also a Hyundai dealer, but there is no way in hell, I would ever choose a Tiburon over my MAZDASPEED. Period! The End!

Now; let's all have a beer!

(drinks)

maybe i'm stupid or something but aren't most cars that drift RWD???

but those kids are dumb. he gets made fun of b/c of his car all the time and has some kind of complex b/c of it.

every magazine that testdrove the MSP/MP3 thought it was at the top for handling. i guess they are all wrong.

and i love that guy that says "it only has power b/c of the turbo. take away the turbo and the car has no power and is slow."

(beer) (beer) (beer) (beer) (hippy) (hippy) (hippy) DUUUHHHH

what ever. it still stand that every one that i know, and none of them are mazda freaks like us, LOVE my car and the new MSP.

also one last thing. the guy that said i like the MSP but i was looking for something more sporty looking so i got a tiburon. UMMMM i don't think so. IMO the tiburon is UGLY. the new ones doo look alot better but still not for my tastes.

but f*ck it. i LOVE MY CAR and to every one else :flip:
ok i'm done now

Gee...ummmmmm so what happens when you turn the car on..... LOL

Should ask him what color was it as well.

Tibs look nice outside, but really look like....well.....a hyundai on the inside CHEAP big time cheap.

And their weak for a V6, really weak.

Newf, that's interesting. I test drove a new Tib and I thought the interior was of pretty high quality. Everything was nice and tight, in fact I was impressed with the build quality of the car in general. And the exterior styling is very nice.

But, it was way slow. It's heavy, and you can feel it. I also didn't like the terrible visibility out the back and rear quarter windows. Shoulder-checking is impossible in that car.

It's also very pricey in Canada. $28K for the GT-R, and to be happy with the car I would have to drop a few grand more on an LSD (the Spec-V LSD fits, same tranny), bolt-ons, and suspension work. All of a sudden we're in WRX territory...

guess I'm just used to driving Honda's, and of course Mazda's

Don't get me wrong, hyundai has come a long way in a short time, but it's still a hyundai.

Just outof curiosity, has anyone out there ran against a Tiburon GT-V6? My friend got one..and I have never raced him for the fear I would get romped, but I just looked up the numbers and they arent THAT much better than the Mp3, and close to to the MSP! Plus, I have to imagine that car is weighe own by a bunch of CRAP

Tib's are decent, I have to give them credit where credit is due, but I wouldn't pick one over an MSP.
However, that IS a Tiburon forum. They deserve to be biased. :)

Anyway, Tiburons are quite heavy, truth be told. Over 3000 lb. (3040 to be exact). Plus the V6 engine doesn't put out a lot of power (170 HP, they were rated higher, but Hyundai admited they goofed and lowered the published HP #.) So 0-60 isn't that hot, about 7.8 seconds. A hotter set of cams would go a long way.

The Tib weighs just over 3000 lbs. That puts it roughly 300 over the MP3, quite a weight disadvantage.

You'd probably lose, but it wouldn't be a romp.

Ok, I'm stupid. What DOES happen when you turn on the car? Is it the faceplate rotating around? Is that what everyone keeps eluding to?

yea thats what I was talking about.
It was the first thing I noticed :)

I've raced a tiburon in my specV and won, never raced one in the MSP. But my friend has the GT V6 6SPD (which is the reason I was on the board in the first place). So i'll get a chance to race him when he gets some new tires :) thats what he says anyway.

This is going to be interesting..
I'd really like to see the outcome, I do home the MSP will win, just because it's what most of us here own :D.....I never thought that the GT-V6 has such a disadvantage with weight and lack of HP..i never looked at them that way. They seem to have had a HUGE improvement with their last generation....

Yea I have vids ov me owning him in the specV, so im hoping to get some in the MSP too :)

Sweeet~

Coming from a Spec-V, honestly do you think our MSP stock can take out a Spec-V stock? Or will the stock Spec-V beat us hands down?

What gear(s) is stronger in the MSP and Spec-V?

Well im going to find out for shure when I go to the track :)
But 1st in the specV definitely feels stronger, and so does seccond. But I think thirs is about the same...4th and 5th are definitely better in the MSP.
But remember, the specV is geared much differently. They have to shift into third when we are still in seccond. So they lose a little bit of time because an extra shift.
My friend has my old specV so there will be some Spec vs. Tib vs. MSP threads and videos. Unfortunately they are both modded. I put nitrous on the spec, and the tib now has an exhaust.
