Long term fuel trim bank

I dont want to spend the coin on getting a dash hawk if i need an ap or sb to fix a problem, if there is one, plus i didnt have to purchase the ultragauge so im happy with what little bit it does.

Aren't most people recommending the DashDaq these days, as the DashHawk hasn't been updated since 2007? I've got the UltraGauge on my 2nd gen NA MZ3, but it definitely is a subset of all the ECU sensors found on the more expensive products, and no data logging. You get what you pay for, but the UltraGauge ($65 or so) is still better than nothing.

I was really disapointed when i saw i got the ultragauge instead of the dash hawk for xmas, apparently my parents waited too long and had a hard time finding it, i should have just bought it myself in the first place.

I have the cobb sri, was thinking about getting the hypertech just didnt want to spend the coin if my numbers were still going to run high like they are.

The Sport programmer has an option specifically for the Cobb SRI. It will correct the MAF calibration, which will bring your fuel trims back down closer to where they would be stock.

Does it also modify the fuel trim if you only have a custom exhaust with stock airbox?

^^you do realize this is for a speed3, not a regular 3 right? And how can he calibrate for something custom?

Ok cool, thanks Chris for the help, looks like when im ready to buy my next thing for the car the hypertech will be next.

The same hypertech tuner is used for both the regular and speed 3. As far as custom, it is the size of the exhaust that is what you need to know.

In my opinion,

if you are going to spend money on a tuning solution, buy one that you can customize yourself, for your mods and by how your car reacts. Instead of relying on a over the shelf tune. The AccessPort and the Standback are the only 2 tuning solutions that I'd recommend.

i would have no idea what i would be doing with either one of those tho, i know the hypertech is plug in and tell it what you have and there it is. Does the ap or sb give you instant hp gains like the hypertech?

AP has OTS (over the shelf) maps you can load up. Cobb calls them stages (depending on mods). Standback does not have any OTS stuff like that. Although the standback is quite simple to tune yourself pending you have at least general tuning knowledge.

Some people just like to plug in -> load a map -> gain power. That's why a lot of people go with stuff like HT and AP. But the AP has the advantage to also modify the tunes if you want, which is invaluable. It's a deal breaker to me.

I strongly recommend the AP for people like you that want some plug-in power. Look at my sig, i have the standback, so I'm not really being bias. Just recommending it on countless threads I've read about AP tuning.

Hmmm alright man your swaying me back to the ap, for now tho il stick with nothing and hope things stay smooth. Then a little later decided on the two but now that i know the ap has maps then that sounds like an easy one to go with.

I would start reading around the cobb forums now to build up some knowledge. They have a Mazda specific section too. Also check out the other speed forums as info sometimes doesn't get from one forum to another.
