Took the car into tech today to get the oil leak fixed on the turbo. He was concerned about my turbo. It is starting to turn a dark color meaning it had been getting to hot. He drove the car and said he heard a bad noise coming form the turbo on shifts. Like metal grinding.
Well he tightened the fittings and told me to keep a close eye out for any fluid that formed on the turbo. I got home I live 180+ miles from the dealer and there was oil all around the turbo and the fittings.
So I am calling him in the morning to see what is going to be done next. I think he is going to replace the entire turbo. Atleast that is what he was leaning toward today. On another note he is replacing the Bushings in mine as well. He said Mazda told him to go get Teflon tape from GM hahaha and use it with the bearing.
I was listening to the turbo tonight trying to hear what he heard. I did hear a funny gurgling noise just before the turbo would spin up. Atleast I think I did it is so hard to hear that stuff sometimes.
