Loc/Unlock Signal Wire

Installing an aftermarket electric liftgate on a 2014 CX5. Unlike others I have installed this kit does not connect through the OBD connector but rather taps in the wiring harness lock/unlock signal wire at the drivers side B pillar. My question is, how do I identify the correct wire? What is it's color code? Can I use my meter to see what wire is getting 12 volts when the lock/unlock button is pushed? Any thoughts?

I'm a little confused, why would the wire be in the B-pillar?

Anyway, I assume you just mean to tie into the power LOCK part of the liftgate (not the power LIFT part). There isn't really a "signal" wire, but lock/unlock voltage wires. See attached the PDFs for the area in question. These are for 2013MY, but should be the same for '14.

Ok, perhaps some clarification. In this particular lift gate installation kit there is one yellow wire which is supposed to be tied into the lock/unlock circuit so that when the remote is pushed 3 times a signal is sent to the liftgate controller module to either open or close the gate. For reasons I am unaware off, the tie point is at the harness at the B pillar on the left side. So the question remains, what is the correct wire to tap into? I’ve installed several aftermarket liftgate kits but this is the first than I’ve been confronted with that is wired this way. So with that info any thoughts?
