The new used Cd is no better. Why are so many bands going soft? I thought the latest MCR was ridiculously good though. I don't mind soft rock, I listen to HIM, but when previous kick ass bands go soft, it's just not good. *shrugs*

Since when were The Used and My Chemical Romance "kick ass bands"?

Ha, for their genre, they're pretty good. Well at least the former used to be. But I do think that MCR matured much better and much quicker than some of these other bands out there. Their latest album had a classic rock feel to it and was themed instead of just random songs compiled.

This album is not near as powerful as their other albums. Track 2,3 and 8 are the only ones that really rock and they are pretty awesome but the rest are very mellow and slow. I think its fine to have a few songs that are different but the majority of this cd you will skip if you really appreciated the music they made in the past.

You guys need a dose of some serious shredding. I order you to pick up the first four Metallica albums and listen to some real driving music.

I happen to like the new LP album. It's not their best (Reanimation has that vote IMO), but it was surprisingly good to me.

Yes, it is very different from their previous albums. But this is a good thing. It is always good for artists to branch out and try new things.

My only real complaint is a common one amongst recent albums by any artist: it's too damn short! 43 minutes?? Whatever happened to albums being at least 1 hour long!?!?!!

No, haven't heard it. Listen to sound clips on itunes, and wasn't too impressed. My friend who is a fan boy loved it, but he would probably love anything they do.

As far as the rant. I don't agree with that being shallow. there are a lot of bands that change their sound. some do it for the better and the fans enjoy it, while others change it in a direction that their fans don't like, but in the process pick up new fans. *shrugs* Take Trivium for example, their new album sounds like old school metallica and I thought it swallowed....now that I think about it, I haven't really enjoyed any of my favorite bands new sounds. It seems to happen when they take too long to put out a new album. Life becomes a bigger factor and the band changes and usually it's a lot softer now that they've been living the good life. From real pain comes the best music. Maybe I am shallow, but if I like a band for a certain sound and that's the role they play in my collection, if they change that sound, they lose their purpose in my collection. On a good note, I think cradle of filth had one of the least disappointing albums this year. Oh, so too did Lamb of God....k, i'm done.

Chimairas album was good

The used are the s***. Their new cd though, I was a bit dissapointed. Still gonna blast the cd though. It's all about the used, senses fail, and chiodos. (rockon)

The Used are only good if you wear girls jeans, apply mascara and slit your wrists.

YES!I agree completely!I'm also a huge LP fan!Whatever they do, I'm down..as long as they stay together,lol!

Anyway,Jersey is right! How many times can we listen another "One Step Closer" or another "Somewhere I belong".Wow!Trying something new...what a concept! It's not like LP is the only act that does this.Any band/artist/group who comes back after a long hyaitus(sp?),usually "brings something new to the table".I bought the album that was like a book and it had a DVD and in it,Mike explains how they pretty much "exhausted that sound"(as in older LP),which I think is true because it would have been a little boring hearing the new songs that make me say"hey that sounds like Crawling" or "hey that sounds like Numb".So yeah,I love the new album. There are only a few songs that are not really that good like "Hands Held High",which I tend to skip. But overall, the album is good.

Didn't really want to respond to anything you had to say..but that asian girl in your sig is cute..that's all..

Okay,that's cool!Yes,she is very cute!

There are different kinds of pain. From my perspective, the early albums reflected the raw pain you experience when you are young. This new album still exhibits pain, but the sort you go through as you mature and perceive things from another viewpoint. For those of you who say the new album sucks, revisit it in 10-15 years and tell us what you think then. Not everyone will see what I am talking about, but some will.

As a for instance, the song "Leave Out All The Rest" to me is about a person who is looking at their life and realizing that they have made mistakes that affected others. They are asking for people to recall the good things they did, and forget the bad. As you age you come to realize that things you once thought were important are maybe not. We are only on this earth for a short time, and our actions affect those around us to a degree we may not always see.

Basically I really like this album (can't you tell?). I think it took a lot of courage for them to make something like this, I am sure they knew the reaction they would get but they went ahead and made it anyway. And let's not forget that they probably had to fight their label and management in order to do produce this. Can you say commitment?

This is a long rant. The whole point is summed up at the bottom.

Meh, IMO the CD is ok, but not worth the money and time spent on obtaining it. First off, I hate spending $14 for 43 minutes of music. That's about 33 cents a minute. That is horrible value. Past that, there are 3 maybe 4 songs that are worthy of being called LP songs. The rest sound like Jimmy Eat World but worse and softer.

Its cute how they go with every other corporate media voice in America and make money off downing Bush. I understand that this album was all about meaning and crap, but I don't listen to LP to open my eyes to the world, I listen to it to rock out to.

When I popped the CD in, the intro was great and the second track was awesome. I was pumped to hear what was next...then WTF...some John Mayer type crap. The compilation of the album sucked...hardish song then slow as hell, then hardish, then slow, slow, rap, hardish, slow, slow, slow, slow.

I would have much rather downloaded "Given Up" "Bleed it out" and "No More Sorrow" and not have heard the rest of the songs. Then LP would still be in decent regard. And touring with MCR...ghey. That ruins the whole aurora of the concert...surrounded by a bunch of EMO kids.

All in all, I am upset for spending that money on the album. There are 3 good songs. The rest are also "good", but not what I was expecting nor what I wanted to spend my money on. If I wanted songs like that I would have bought John Mayer or Jimmy Eat World.
