Can someone supply me some line drawings or blueprints for the newest model protege sedan or MSP? Thanks.

that would be sweet, i was looking online the other day on how to model cars in 3d studio max and it says the best way is to start off with blueprints. so if anyone has some, send them to me too

Brendan, I have one but can get it for you later. It's great. Coming to ProtegeFest?

need something like that? i have one of a 03.5 with no wing too.

*for non-commerical use only :)
if you could get me a front, back, top, and side view i could try to make something like
auditt_01_mod.jpg

that's what i had in mind. and yes, that is a 3d model, not a picture. more here http://www.raumfaktur.com/content/en_112_audittin3d.htm . i found a tutorial that explains how to do it, but you need drawings of the top, front, back and a side to do it

i can do all but the top for sure. i should have them done by Sunday... i'm not sure what my schedule looks like 100% yet.

i have been using max since i was about 15 and i am 19 now...im ok at it ;) lol

but i have been using Auto CAD almost every day since i was 13 so im a little better at that.

How long have you been using 3D Studio Max? It will take about 5-6 months of dedicated learning to get that good. Good luck. :)
lol, about a month. we use it more for animation than strictly modeling, it's for my animation class. i'm not expecting it to come out anything like that, but close would be cool. i have a nice long 23 hour plane ride coming up so i need something to do

if you want to do something like that you are better off messing with some photoshop otherwise it will be too much for most lap tops to handel something of that much detail

Something like the Audi rendering would take weeks if not months to make, and 23 hours in itself to render. :)

haha, well at least i could get a model with the basic shape, then work on details later
if you are going for that, then it will take about 8 hours

what computer are you rocking?

it's not going to be the best for graphics work. a dell inspiron 8200 w/ a p4 processor and probably only 128 megs of ram. i'm borrowing it from a friend so i don't know exactly. i think it has a decent video card but not much ram so it won't be the best for graphics stuff but hopefully decent, especially since i'll be in no rush

you will have to save and restart the computer after a few major commands you do with that little of ram....

I'm going to try modeling my MSP in Maya next week. All I have to use are my own pictures, so if anyone has those blueprint profiles pics, please post them! :D

where did you get the maya program from? and how much?

that audi does look sick, but that particular model (Audi TT) is used as a beginner tutorial for alot of 3ds max users. it was probably rendered using brazil and the graff in the background and the cobblestone flooring is a bitmap. the water is just a material using raytrace. it's not that hard. still looks very good though. believable.
