Lights in the Window Switches

Just noticed that one of the window switches in my 2010 doesn’t light up anymore. Car is barely 5 months old! I had the same problem with my ’04 F150. I figured that American manufacturers are getting the switches from China, along with a lot of other parts, that’s why I bought a Japanese vehicle this time. Not a big deal (I guess), you’d just think that something as simple as a little LED would stay working for several years.

Not hardly worth the hassle of having to leave it off at the dealer. If the switch itself stopped functioning, I definitely would, but if the little lights just go out at random like the ones in my F150, it’s just not worth it.

Not sure on a CX-7, but on the F-150 these little LEDs in the switch are fairly easy to swap out, and cheap too. It is just time consuming to desolder and solder the little bulbs on and get the right polarity.

Youd think that there would be an easy fix for the little lights. I read on another website that F-150 owners were paying $$$ to have the entire switch replaced.

Anyway, problem solved on the CX-7! Just realized that the light was out (off) for the passenger side window switch, due to the window lock-out switch being activated.
