Hi there,

I own a 1.5 BJ 2000 model (PFL) looking for a lightened flyweel - as i understand the 1.6 engine is the same basically as the 1.5.

Does anyone know where you can get a lightend flyweel from for the 1.6 protege - as im struggling to fine one at the moment.

thanks

Joe.

The only company I knew that made one was SR Motorsport, but i just checked this morning and it doesn't appear that they have one for the 1.6 anymore.

Skim it. But not too much.

The flywheel for a 1.6 miata will work. I got mine from BIKNMAN. If you search his user name you'll learn quite a bit about what he did w/his car.

Yup, the 1.6 Miata flywheel will work. I believe SPEC sells one for the 1.6L.

Thanks to all of the above, Is the SPEC One for the matita or protege specific, Guess the mitita and protege engines are the same then?

Also anyone know where to buy the spec one from?

thanks

Just a word of advice. Be prepared to adjust your driving habits. The car will want to stall way easier than before, so you'll find yourself slipping the clutch at higher rpms for stop and go traffic. But it does make a noticeable difference in acceleration so the tradeoff is definitely worth it IMHO.

Thanks mate

Might look into the one above as i need a clutch anyway however im not sure i'll be able to afford it as i'v just order a OBX manifold now (Car needs it lol) and it still has to go in and get the rust cut out as well)
