Lightened crank pulley == CEL?

I installed this pulley along with the Medieval Light weight pulleys. Only for some reason the sensor came loose the teeth caught it and ripped it off. I was furious, I am having a shop put all my stock pulleys back and replace my sensor.

Hope you dont get the CEL back.

Do you currently know of any other issues with Medieval pullies aside from the crank? I'm tryign to figure out if my issue is a unqie issue or not. I will not talk about it tell after I have everythign situated with Brach so dont ask.

Just drove 90 miles back home on the highway..everything seemed fine until I got into bumper to bumper traffic and saw the rpms dropping to 0 fast. Luckily it didnt stall on me on the freeway.

Just curious how did the car run prior to the universal 02 sensors?

No issues with my WP or Alt pulleys at all. And before the o2 sensor CEL my car was relatively stock..just racing beat catback and k&n drop in filter. Those were the good days when I got great gas mileage.

i've had my pullies on for about a week, love them.

except yesterday i got on it through 1st-2nd pullin out. couple minutes later i noticed my cel was on. p0301 cyl 1 misfire and p0660, VICS solenoid. the solenoid had no resitance so i replaced it today, and changed my plugs for the hell of it. i'm thinking it's the coil tho cuz it only happens when the engine is hot and i get on it, above 5krpms it usually misfires. and a couple times after a hard run when i'm cruising it'll throw a p0301 at around 3krpms as well. but if i just cruise around all day it's fine. and i don't notice any performance impact at all. although i did notice i hear more pops and gurgles through the exhaust than usual.

$75 for a new VICS solenoid, and now i'm gonna get a coil. i might replace my wires first, they didn't have them when i got the plugs. but the magnecores i have, their resistance was slightly less than what the manual ranges. so i'm thinkin they're fine.

how long do spark plugs last..mine are almost 1 year old. And do you think that swapping to this p5 MAF i have will cure my stalling?

Spark plugs can last a long time as long as they are gapped correctly and that the car has the proper air/fuel mixture. What makes you think your maf is bad?

just been reading around the forums of stuff to replace to cure a low idle. The EGR is probably going to be the culprit but I do not have the time nor the money to fix it. I just spent $120 on an oxygen sensor and I still need one more.

The egr takes 15 minutes to remove, clean and install. Have you ever checked out your iac? That can also cause low idle if it gets dirty or improper voltage.

But my egr is super bent to get onto the headers I installed. I think I wont be able to get it back on if I pull the egr off. And wheres the IAC?

The egr valve is no where near the header. Its on the intake manifold just under the throttle body. Two bolts hold it to the intake mani. No tube connected to it. The iac is on top of the throttle body.

I think your refering to the egr tube that connects the exhaust header to the intake manifold. That does not come off to inspect and clean the egr valve.

Ohh s*** I completely had a mind relapse..i guess its all the hours working on my car and the long ass drive I did today in traffic. But yeah the EGR is that little thing underneath the throttle body? and you pull it off and spray some carb cleaner or something in it.

Ive heard that most of the people who clean it only see the problem come back just as quickly. It seems like the only way to actually solve it is to replace the EGR. But I think I will take that into consideration this summer when I am bored as hell.

What am I supposed to do about the IAC? You want me to adjust the screws? I also heard this isnt a wise choice.

I mention the egr because if you clean it and the idle does improve then you know for sure its the egr valve instead of buying a part that never needed to be changed. The iac valve has nothing to do with adjusting screws. Its a valve on top of the throttle body. It works almost in a sense as the egr. Both have a valve that if it gets dirty with carbon, the car idles like crap.

would you be kind enough to provide me with a picture so i can see exactly what it is

ok so i took the IAC valve off..looked inside of it and it doesnt even look dirty. the actual place it mounts to above the throttle body is thhe only thing that looks dirty.

all i got is a bottle of seafoam because i was planning on soaking them in there overnight
