licence plate mounting

now that I have a turbo kit I do not want to have my licnece plate on the front hanging down in front of it so I was thinking that I could either cut it for bend it to fit inbetween the top and lower grill...then jst use the stock bolts and put holes through the center of the plate where it lines up....do u think this would work? or does anyone have any alternate suggestions?

Its not too legal, but I put mine inside on the top of the windsheild with some suction cups. I have gotten pulled over twice for speeding and they didnt say anything about it.

the law for display is the plate needs to be on the farthest point of the car, so um, just cover up one of the fog lights with it, heh.

well no more than the plate hangs down it certainly won't hurt the cooling of the FMIC....so that really shouldn't be a factor....as for bending it up? well....personally I don't think that would look very good at all....

one thing you might want to do is this.....contact your local DMV (department of motor vehicles) and ask them if a front plate is REQUIRED, if they say yes......then take note of EVERY SINGLE CORVETTE you see and I bet you will notice that NONE of them are running a front plate.....THEN ask the DMV why that is? In Texas a front plate is required....however...the above is true here as well....I have NEVER TO THIS DAY seen a vette with a front plate....and I have numerous friends with them....and not a single one has ever gotten a ticket for it either.

apparently you can trim down a plate in the white areas, as long as it retains the numbers and state connected to eachother. I have no concrete truth to this law, but sounds believable.

Hey Equinox,

My lawyer told me it was OK in Ohio, too trim it down but I must show the State and Tag number/letters. But that is coming from someone who owns a Porsche and has NO Front Plate. LOL

bleh! I don't need no stinkin front plate til they catch me. Let's see, 1 1/2 years without a front plate is worth the fixit ticket they 'll give me. And after I get the fixit ticket signed off, the front plate will come off all over again. I'm a rebel. All I can say is don't be scuurrred!

Just leave it off. Thats what I am doing untill i get a fix it ticket.

as you can see here.

I have already had a no licence plate warning...so I think I should deff fix it :D

the key is I don't want to leave it off....and I don't want cops to have any reason to pull me over...so instead of everyone telling me what they did...try to help me out in my own idea and if it will work

I made a custom bracket out of lexan and bent the bottom of the license plate up. I counter sunk the mounting bolt to the car and then monted the plate. I will borrow my moms dig camera and post pics

or you could be like me and throw caution to the wind..............get rid of it completely...........ive never ever had a front license plate on either car that i owned and have never gotten a ticket for it (knock on wood)..............the 3 speeding tickets are a whole other story........:D

I finally saw a Corvette with a front license plate today.. I was coming back form FedEx and saw a nice yellow vette pull up next to me.. they had a clear cover where it normally says "Corvette" on the front bumper and the license plate was behind it.. you couldnt really see the whole plate unless you were looking straight infront of it, but it was there...

Sorry, back to topic now...
