Ok, so the last 300ZX-TT thread kinda blew up...still a great read though. Without any e-thug'n going on, what do you guys think of these? Have you driven them, impressions? Reliability? I love the way they look, and their a toyota afterall..so I'm sure they are great cars. I found a 2001 with 97,000 miles for $13,900..seems like a decent price to me. I'm not really to interested in the whole mod it to hell kinda thing..just most likely subtle things like wheels, suspension and interior stuff. Anything else I need to know about these cars, please..let me know.

my old boss had one that he turbo'd. i used to make fun of him because it was the automatic, but he just traded it in for a new one with the manual tranny. it's sweet car. i even if it is a toyota, i'd still be worried about the high mileage.

I have a 02 is300. if possible get one that isnt 01. They upgraded the materials in it, and put in an arm rest in the 02 and up.

the motor is practically bulletproof. I only have 20k miles on mine but havent had a single problem with the car. Which is far more than I can say for the msp.

Which is why I'm thinking about a trade. Notorius, see..the thing is I don't know how much over the $13-14,000 range I can go, and that pretty much leaves me with the '01's. The one I found is an automatic, I'm just lucky enough to find one in my price range though, manual or auto. I found a couple of 70-80,000 mile ones, which were a little more...is that mileage still a little scary you think?

I know ur looking for a used, but this may still be of interest to u

I was looking into a IS 300 from my friend.. here is what Lexus Canada replied.

'The IS300 will be completely redesigned for the 2006 model year, and
is expected to be launched in late fall 2005.

We do not have any information to provide to you concerning the
changes that will be made to the 2006 Lexus IS300 or pricing. Such
information is highly confidential and this is a very competitive
market. Consequently, details will not be released until much closer
to the launch date in 2005. We are very confident, however, that it
will surpass your expectations.'

is300 = fwd supra in the making, turbo that biatch! its a 2jz!, all you have to worry about is the stock trannies and even those hold like 400whp

The have the toyota supra 6cyl engine (2JZ) and are RWD
but they're so hard to find in MTX

I think with that mileage you'll be ok. It's a proven motor and chasis.

i wouldnt be scared by anything under 150k on a toyota

my friend has an 01 is300. he bought it used with like 30k on it, probably has 60k now and he hasnt had a single problem

i love the car. nowhere near as fun as the MSP (or i would have gotten one) but a very comfortable sporty ride. not to mention good looks and the lexus badge :)

next car is gonna be a 2002+ is300 (2002 is the first year they offered manual trans) or a bmw e46 (325ci/328ci)but i love the IS300 even if they arent as fast as the MSP. i love they way they look. i love RWD. i will turbo it if i have too...
