Thanks, mate. What swap are you doing? Got a build thread or links?

Yeah, my thoughts exactly on the clutch. I jsut didn't want anything with a pressure plate that was unbearable for daily driving. But a Stage 1 will be fine. I don't really know cats' names unless I know them in real life. Who's Derek? And that's what I'll plan on doing for the tranny wiring too. Yeah, I'm basically doing what you were planning on doing so your help is greatly appreciated. I don't plan on doing the swap until it warms up a bit since I work really slowly and carefully, it will probably take a week to get everything in and ready for turn key. But I'm shooting for April 1st to be running reliably. You're more than welcome to come up and help out! haha

I've seen a few Fidanza's on PT for sale but to be honest, I would rather spend a few bucks extra and make sure I get new parts. I just don't trust people I've never met and see how they treat their own cars. And I would soil myself if I every broke 200whp. Haha! Your PGT is badass.

I don't blame you. I have never had an issue on there buying stuff used, but I have been around there a long while, and only buy from people I either have met, or that I can trust.

And thanks..the new car/motor will be badass..

Derek = prdracing (forum name) not to be confussed with PRD racing (the company) LOL. a.k.a. the guys who probe we are building.

PM send back your way....

If I get my new toy I might be up there for the fun;)

Gotcha. I was going to say, pretty sure Ken is not building another Probe, lol.

Specs on the build?

My God this car is glorious... The Mazda 626 MPS. Twin turbo KLZE powered AWD. I wish I had the funding to do this to the P5. Imagine an AWD TT KLZE Protege5. skeet skeet.

Quite hot... although if I was to tackle a project such as making a 3rd gen Protege AWD... I probably would just buy a Subaru to be honest. The AWD systems for the Sport20's weren't exactly the strongest thing in the world. Not to mention that the belly of the AWD Proteges were completely different than our FWD'ers. Such a shame really.

That is where the Mazda 6 came from

Well, I bought a s***-ton of parts from Jon today. I gotta say first of all, he's a great seller. I don't buy used parts very often because I don't trust anyone. But Jon replied to all 36,ooo of my PM's and is honest about everything and really treats others as he would want to be treated. I bought from him;

-1996 OBD2 wiring harness for the engine bay. Pretty much everything in a Milly bay from the ECU to the fuse block.
-KL47 USDM ECU
-KL47 USDM MAF sensor
-all four O2 sensors
-1996 OBD2 disty (like new)
-Stoptech rear brake lines (from his part-out thread)

I asked him if he could do some labelling on the harness for me and he even did that. He had everything boxed up, shipped with tracking numbers and on it's way to me in 3 hours. That's freakin service! Thanks again, mate.

So I think between my JDM harness, the 1994 PGT harness, the Milly harness and the plugs on the tranny I should be able to wire everything up just fine AND still be OBD2 compliant for e-Check here in Ohio for 2012. I'm a happy zoom-zoom'er today. :)

Did Rob P. get a hold of you about your soon to be old tranny? I am sure he'll give you a fair price for it and could also possibly paint your new helmet to boot. He is quite talented in that area.

Indeed he did, Godfather. He text me today. I told him $150 for the tranny but it won't be available until Feb/March (swap time). He said he might have another one locally but I told him the tranny is his when it's out of my P5 if he still wants it. No worries. :)

I see you found it, lol, can't believe you missed it :D. Sadly the whole car is a project and I haven't had much time to spend on the motor as I needed a rolling chassis to put it into, that all should change soon though. I may take you up on the AC compressor if mine doesn't work out. Some say the KLZE compressor is different; is the compressor you have original to your motor or something you picked up locally?

Good news broheim, I heard that that MPS/6 concept with the turbo KLZE made it into GT5, unlike a lot of other cool cars.. There are 17 different civic sis, but no probes/mx6/626, etc.. Go figure.

the side of the 626 MPS reminds me of the protege. the doors and windows look identical to me. i would leave the wing on just cause it would annoy ppl on the road (lol2)

edit: even the gauges and such too..

I saw the pics from when you first bought at and was thinking "Oh dear Lord, why did he buy that thing..." haha! But it's really come a long way and you've put in some great work!

The compressor did come with my JDM KL. The only problem with is I don't know which JDM KL it came off of. heh-heh. I know it's not a ZE since it doesn't have the specs for it. It's more like a KL-03, probably a Eunos800. But if you look at the pics of my motor it looks lke it's got very low miles. I have the bracket and bolts for it and it looks really good. I just didn't want to mess with the A/C system since i rarely use mine anyway. I can get you pics if you like. But absolutely no pressure. It's just sitting on the shelf in my garage taking up space.

yeah, that's defiantly a protege interior. From the door handles to the steering wheel to the gauges. Heck, even the window switch and dash vents are the same.

I wonder if they will have downloadable content...like more cars and race courses.

I still want a PS3 lol, but I'm quitting one of my 2 jobs and taking more classes at Akron next semester...so I'm going to be broke LOL

The 626 MPS is crazy. Looks similar to a MS6 actually, similar styling cues.

yeah, this whole section i circled in red looks all too familiar to me. like they took a 3rd gen and made the front headlights slimmer and gave it a different ass. i wish they made this car in the US !

I was taking it easy on the update posts for a while. I didn't want to annoy the other members with my thread being at the top all the time. I didn't want to seem like an attention *****.

I got two fire extinguishers for the garage for Christmas. haha

The KL build hasn't lost any momentem, I'm still doing research and hunting for parts. Payday tomorrow so I'm ordering a Clutchmasters Satge 1 clutch and lightweight flywheel and a SS clutch line. The clutch line isn't necessary but I figured since I have everything out, might as well swap it while it's easy to do.

I'm also working on a used DGM carbon fiber hood.

Oh, I did get these in today. I have a "Rust is lighter than carbon fiber" sticker coming too. heh-heh.
