I've always heard rave reviews from MonoxideChild about South Bend clutches, but I haven't heard too much from anyone else. I think their main market is diesel stuff.

South Bend has some pretty hard core clutches, but normally diesel applications, IIRC.
I'm loving the ACT that's in the MSM. 15 passes at the drag strip the one day and I never noticed a single bit of slip or issues.

The Slotege cat has a South Bend clutch and he likes it too. I just thought some cats choose those because they are inexpensive. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for a part that is made well and inexpensive. I'm not trying to show off just a brand-name parts list or anything. But I figure while I have time to do this project, I might as well do it right. But I'm still not a rich man by anymeans so don't want to become bankrupt while building. If all this makes any sense. 
The motor is in the garage. I'm ordering metric hardware for the enigne stand in the morning from McMaster-Carr then she can finally start getting sorted.
And under further inspection it looks like I'm missing a few bits and pieces from the engine harness it came with. Some of the wires have been snipped etc. So I found a cat on PT (I love that site) selling a PGT engine harness and is getting me a shipping quote and will have that shipped soon. As we all know, the wiring is going to be the hardest part with this swap so I want to make sure I've got everything sorted in the department before I even think about pulling my FS-DE out. Good thing my room mate is an electrical genius.

Makes perfect sense. I'm not a name snob either, but I get parts that are good enough to last without breaking the bank. If a cheaper part is just as good or better, but doesn't have the fancy name, I'll jump for that.

I'm pretty good at soldering and running wires and such. Just not that great at electrical schematics...
Here's a bass I made a few years back, I did all the wiring so I'm not exactly a newb at this kind of stuff. heh-heh
edit- here she is in all her glory. The body and neck were from Warmoth. They were gorgeous pieces of wood.

southbend clutches are very popular in the diesel world, i have 3 buddies running them in their trucks, and another buddy running one in his srt4 neon, hes making enough power that he shattered his axles but the clutch is hasnt shown any wear... i would say if they make a clutch for your application i wouldnt hesitate to buy one

Truer words have not been spoken. On 626.net we consult him over the Haynes manual. That isn't saying that much, but he knows it all off the top of his head, no less.
I cleaned up the 2nd post in this thread for the KL swap and info.
Hopefully I'll be able to get some work done in it Sunday. I've been busy helping friends in the garage for a few weekends now. I plan on tearing down the motor and giving it a good inspection. Then hourglass the TB butterfly and knife edge the IM and clean up some of the runners with my Dremel. Nothing too crazy, just cleaning up the surfaces.

When you actually get that KL installed are you going to get a new license plate? Or will you keep it for the sweet-sweet irony?
Heh-heh, nah. I'm going to keep the SLOW P5 plate. I mean, when you think about it, it will only have about 170whp. That's still not "fast" in my book. Whenever I get cocky I get a ride in my friends MSM, MS3 or MS6 and it puts everything back into perspective.

Comparatively though, you'll have one of the fastest NA P5s out there
