looking good Mack.

Thanks Josh she's been through a lot but shes as good (better actually) than she was before + the incident put $$$ in my savings account + paid for a trip to myrtle beach lol...thanks progressive!

I would have liked to lower it but I would never have a chance in that class for autocrossing (im a novice but its still fun).

Even though I am more of a graphite kinda' guy I think it looks GREAT!!! And that mountainous setting is really VERY cool too!! Where was the pic taken?

One suggestion: Lose the side moldings.

thanks! it was taken up on hurricane ridge in washington state.

as for the side mouldings, not gonna happen, the paint is a slightly different color (probably from the sun), tried it once. i just can't live with that haha.

Halo, the wing looks sick. You've got one of the nicest 3s I've seen. you're gonna match the paint on it eventually though right? I think that's the only reason it "sticks out" .

Oh and where'd you get those LED strips again? I saw it in an older post a long time ago but I couldn't find it again. thanks

Sun? In Washington State? Isn't that an oxymoron? (average 267 rainy days + an average 98 sunny days = 365) :D :D :D

I waited a few years before removing mine too. I was afraid to, being as my car is often in a public parking lot.
Then someone "rubbed" my car and the moldings did nothing to protect it, so I said to myself, I sayz "Self," I sayz, "why do I need these moldings? They don't do anything anyway, 'cept to make the car look stupid and unclean."

The color was slightly different for a short time, but it "settled in," and now you can't tell. It all looks the same. I did use some polish when I first removed them and that too helped a bit.

If you notice, the 2010's have no molding at all. Mazda finally got it.
Try it for a while. You'll like it!!
BTW: Velo Red is HOT!!! I'm SOOOO Glad Mazda brought it back.

I just took a week long clear bra training class. On the last day, we ran out of time to but bras on my Mazdas headlights. I have them in my car and will mount them next week. I also have to place the hood bra on my car next week as well. In training, we were working on a few different Porsche, Lexus, Jaguar and BMW fron bumpers since they are the hardest. It kinda felt like MY '08 Mazda 3s was not easy as they expected it should have been. Well, since I detail vehicles, we all forgot that the paint on my car was sealed and everything. LOL We had to remove all the wax off my car befor anything would stick.

I will take pics and post them sometime next week, I hope.

thanks brian, i got bored with the bronze and had been thinking/wanting to do a matte olive green for a while

gonna be picking up some stuff from a local army surplus store in the next month or so to do either the door panels or reupholster the seats (maybe both)

Well after a couple of months of looking I've finally found and put a deposit down on an '05 GT hatchback. I wanted an '06 or newer but the low mileage on this one got me.
It's black on black leather, loaded, automatic with 43,000kms. It took a minor hit on the passenger side front bumper but it's being replaced, some minor bodywork done due to scratches and minor rust, hood replaced (more scratches), 6000K (digital?) HIDs good for 4000hrs installed for $150, factory look Nav unit (it kills the LCD display above the head unit but I heard that's pretty common with most of these units). Can't complain though cuz I'm getting installed for $400. They're giving me the deal on the HIDs and Nav unit because I'm buying the car from them. Regular price is $250 for the HIDs and about $800 for the Nav.
While being certified they're replacing all brakes and rotors so I asked them to paint the calipers red with the white Mazda logos.
Hopefully they do a decent job with the paint and body work.
I've got my buddy from Saber Performance ordering me some H&R lowering springs and I've gotta contact my other buddy Peter at NextMod for the front lip and window visors and some other goodies. I'm thinking I'll get the RX-8 rims instead of aftermarket rims.
My last really modded car was my old 88 Civic H/B that I got rid of in '96! I started modding my A4 1.8T but my wife's taken that over! I got as far as chipping it, 19" rims with Continentals on them, tint, MP3/iPod connectors.
Really, I'm too old for this sh*t! LOL, but working as a photographer covering tuner events and other motorsport stuff, the bug has finally bitten again!
Hopefully I'll post some pics up when I get the car.

Cheers!

Nigel
