Lets just accept bushing problem?

I also have the notorious bushing/suspension noise problem. However, after realizing this is a huge problem effecting many Proteges, and figuring out that Mazda USA doesn't care, why don't we just accept the noise. Now- I'm not sure if I am correct here, but the bushing noise, there is nothing being damaged to the car is there? Isn't it just an ANNOYING noise? If its just a noise, I'm willing to accept the problem, even though it is REALLY annoying. The problem is, we (or I) am so picky I just can't stand when the car makes that noise when hitting a bump. Yes I'm sick of it, and yes, Mazda should do something more, but really, I can TOLERATE it. Hopefully Mazda will fix it (probably not). There isn't much I/we can do about it, so lets just accept the problem.

eventually yes, something will get damaged...especially the car driving behind you when the swaybar just falls out while you're doing 55 down the road and hit a small bump (this is after a long time of 'accepting the noise')...not to mention, as soon as the sound starts your suspension is handicapped and not working to its full potential. Accepting the noise would be 'almost' the same thing as just taking off the swaybar...

Yes, handling definitely decreases when the clunk starts. We should not accept it.

If there is space beteen bushing and swaybars that means there is more play in the sway bar making it not as stiff. there fore effecting handling

now, what is the root problem? the bushings? the sway bar?

what would FIX it (if made CORRECTLY)? Bushings that WORK?

Ok the only problem that i have encountered has been the front springs squeaking when it is cold leaving my apartment complex. Now if you are having a problem with the bushings then they should fix it for you. More than likely if it is a space b/w the sway bar then they will fix it. We have already gotten under mine and tightend up all of the suspension and no rattles or squeaks since. Look into it and see what you think.

Your problem is this sway bar bushings ovaling out and more than likely the links getting loose. It is very common and the only permant fix is replace them with adjustable or higher quality links and polyurethane bushings
