Dude, you are going to have a blast. Last winter was my first with the car and I loved it.
I completely agree with the parking lot idea, take it out somewhere you know there are no curbs or bumps, and get used to the limits. And make no mistake, there are limits, even for an AWD car with full snow tires. Ice is still very tricky, and I almost put myself into a snowbank on a snowboarding trip last year because I just assumed I could take it on like snow and slush. Lesson learned!
