Hi guys,
I'm new here, own a 2008 Mazda CX-7 GT FWD US specs andhave a couple of questions:
1) is it possible to switch the odometer from Miles to KM?
2) about retrofit install of LED rearview mirrors, is it possible to onnect wires to the BCM instead of going all the way to the headlights?
3) do you know how to set wireless entry and start system to open all the doors w/o having to press the button twice?
4) do you know a way to activate the autolock feature on keyless entry and start system w/o going to the dealership?

Thanks in advance.

3) I don't think this can be changed. At least I've never heard of anyone doing it.

4) No, the dealer has to hook it up to their computer to make the change.

ok thanks for the info.
Btw don't you find the fact that you have to press twice kind of annoying?
I find it so as it often happens this with keys in my backpack:
- Unlock driver's door using the button on the handle.
- Get what I've got to get in the car.
- Move to the trunk to pick up something else but the liftgate is locked.
- Press the button to open it but of course the car refuses to open or to close as the keys are outside but one door is open.
Now I have to: get the keys from my back pack and open the car or go back to the driver's door and unlock all the doors from there.

I might be lazy but this is annoying !!! I want all the doors unlocked at the first click!!!

Yeah... i have been annoyed by that.

Or I'll be coming back from the store and if I forget to press the unlock button on the inside of the car, when I get to the back and press the button it locks the drivers door then another press to unlock.

If I'm walking up to the car from behind and i have passengers I usually hit the button on the back since 1 push there unlocks all doors.

Ex.
in the Murano you can activate the autolock feauture on the car setup on the main screen.
You can also decide to have the four doors unlocked at the first click or just driver's door.
I really wonder why Mazda designed things so poorly that:
you gotta go to the dealership if you want the autolock feature enabled.
there is no car setup on the nav screen.
At least having the nav package (as I do) that costs 4000 bucks, they should give some nice options and features...
There is really no tech in that package:
- no Ipod integration
- no external port such usb or media card reader for MP3s
- The NAV is crap (only grocery stores or malls in the POI lookup... not single shops).
- No closer POI lookup by name... if you look up by name it gives you results that may be 300 miles away.
- NAVsupport only for US and Canada... No GPS DVD when I'll have to move to Europe in a few months
And on the GT they could have put standard:
- LED mirrors, which I'll have to put myself
- Rain sensing wipers (standard feature on EU specs)

And what angers me most: a sporty SUV with no manual tranny available!!!!!

Ok in Europe the CX-7 is 55000 USD list price (after taxes), so I should be happy no matter what.
