This question is for those with real world experience with these cars. How hard can you launch a STi, EVO, Talon, etc.....on a regular basis without expecting something to blow-up? Its my inderstanding that after 10-12 6000 RPM clutch drops on a Talon the clutch and/or the diff. are pretty much toast. Are the newer cars like the STi/EVO able to handle this? How about 3000 RPM clutch drops?

How do you guys that race AWD cars launch them?(uhm)

sti has a very strong tranny, and is good to go for abuse, the evo from what i have heard doesn't have any problems except the clutches wearing fast...

Think about this: the clutch is a wear item, the tranny is not.

Abuse the clutch, NOT the tranny. Always slip the clutch when "launching."

When I truly launch for speed, I don't even shift all the way out of 1st before slipping it into 2nd. I keep the clutch halfway depressed and slip the clutch at the grab point and shift into second. So, the strain there is never totally on the tranny - the clutch is taking the beating.

i forgot guys the clutch will get all the work done on it if it was a auto you would have to worry lol i feel dumb and im a auto mech. lol just (gun) please.
