Latest for steering wheel integration

RatLabGuy

Huh? What?
:
'03 p5 and '89 4Runner; M5 (wife's)
Getting ready to ditch the OE radio in the '10 M5, most likely getting a Pioneer AVH-P3200DVD.

Looks like there are a couple of options for the steering wheel controls...
e.g. Scosche, SWCPS
http://www.scosche.com/products/sfID1/151/sfID2/159/sfID3/314/productID/1569
or PAC SWI-PS
https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned)
which is specific to Sony/Pioneer, or this one
PAC SWI-X, which is more programmable to work w/ anything
https://www.amazon.com/dp/ (commissions earned)
or Metra Axxess AXWC

etc

Any recommendations for one over others?

What did you have to do for the install of the the ASWC? I assume that the wires from the steering wheel have a harness coming down into the back of the stock HU? Is that where you tied it in? I'm guessing you have to cut that off to tie it in?
Did you just stuff the extra box back in behind the radio?

Bump on this thread. Very curious how this install goes. Pics would be awesome.
