Lancer Evolution VIII MR version

great deal yes, no doubt. Would I take it over my car, yes, but only for performance reasons. The car is too ricey looking for me. 1st thing I'd have to do is take off that pathetic spoiler, change the rims, and then I could live with it. Otherwise, I'll keep my money.

I would love to have have a Evo VIII MR FQ340
Heh. I remember seeing a british show comparing the Evo and the WRX Sti, and he took special time to take the piss out of the names of these cars, which are acronyms that keep getting longer and longer. :D

its what seels and what sells to a larger crowd. pure business...and some actuall care and planning is put into these things by most of the performance divisions such as mazdaspeed.

hahah yeah I noticed the same thing...its every bit as fast as a stock M3, as well as a 911 (driver and condition dependant)...so how are any of those underpowered...

when compared to the 500 club, maybe...But for **** sake you will triple the price before you ever get your hands on a new production car that can get to 60 in a second less...

i think they were just reaching for a reason for the bigger turbo from the article writiers standpoint. We all know the evo out handles the STi in all aspects, in every comparison article I have seen anyway, and now it has the power to match it in the straight line also....This is the reasoning I see from mitsu for the bigger turbo, it just didnt want the evo rated lower than the STi anymore.

err, why do they call it an underpowered 4 cyl, s*** for a 4 cyl it's overpowered IMO, i could understand when comparing it to say, a corvette Z06 with twice the cylindars it would be underpowered, but w/e

I'd honestly take this over a Z06. Living here where they are made, I'm tired of em....and as far as I'm concerned they are blending in with the Camry's, Civic's, and Accords. Hell, even the new C6 I'm tired of, I've been seeing those SOB's for like 6 months now at least. This new MR looks sweet...I want one!

this is the only one in the US right now for testing purposes. hand-built. it was at an auto-x event i was in, and it's pretty damn fast.

all sexy, all of it. =)

need one in all black with the original red tails, non of that altezza s***.

Theres a new write up about it in the new Car & Driver mag. Although they use a lot of weight saving deigns in the car ( ie lighter roof section) the car still weights about 40lbs. more than a regular Evo, they say its due to the added front and center differential. It costs 35,000 vs the regular 30,000. The MR as well as all the 05 Evos get a helical LS-front-D and an active center Differential. The MR comes with BBS rims and bilstein shocks (front) and struts (rear) to help with the extremely harsh ride of the Regular Evo.
