Hello everyone,
I searched without finding the exact same problem , I have a yellow engine light that appeared 2 times.
I think the problem comes from the aluminum protection above catalyst tears and just touched the lambda probe.
I quickly tried to put the aluminum foil and the yellow engine disappeared after two days but the problem has reappeared.
The speed and the wind will fall protection cover on O2 / lambda sensor (Rear O2). Have you ever seen this problem?

Some of these terms are really foreign to me or I am not understanding you correctly. I think this is where a pic is worth a thousand words!

Sounds like you are having issues with the rear O2 throwing a CEL? If so, are you able to pull the code? I’m not sure what the “aluminum foil” or “aluminum protection cover” is used for (do you mean the exhaust manifold heat shield?). Maybe this is different for Euro cars.

The rear O2 is super easy to replace –for US cars. If you can get under the car, you have full access.

iisnakeii,

My heat shield has completely come free of the fireproof tan backing and has also fallen down onto my catalytic converter. Been that way for a good 2 years. Does not throw a code. Have you had the code read? If it is intermittent, it could be something like our North American 2.3L engines go through with a failing thermostat. It causes a "CEL" (we call it a "check engine light") that comes and goes as the thermostat begins to fail.

Cylinder N# 3 Misfire --> I Order a ignition Coil LF2L18100A

Update 14/01 : I remove Old igntion Coil and there was Water in Spark Plug Well in Cylinder 2 & 3.
I dried all the water and no more problem.
Same Problem that http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?123800235-Corrosion-in-spark-plug-well
I saw that there was a prblme on MZD5 first model, the engine cover was redone.
How to know if the engine cover is a new or old design?
