Laguna Seca Pics

we all melted our tires. hot es100's= grip+++++++

we definately had an advantage with fwd and i totallt agree that turn 9 was awsome!!!! i got such good traction after the apex when i was flooring it. turn 4 was almost the same way but i must say that turn 6 was the hardest. but after a while i found that if you accelerate when you hit the dip, it shoots you out really nicely but then after that its a steep uphill where i was totally impotent (power wise) but then the corkscrew came up and we owned everyone. a fast fwd p5 would own so hard there!!! if i had another car, i'd strip my car down, get a msp tranny and try to get as much n/a power out of my engine as possible. i've got so much running through my head!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry guys I'm running a bare bones OS right now just after a new hard drive. No I realize why they took so long to upload

i was suprised my brakes were ok, all stock, no fading never had a lack of braking power and it didn't eat too much pad either,

i have some potenza re750s that were virtually brand new before the event, they got pretty melted and toasted but the tread is still ok, just the top 1/32th melted off ;) but man those things gripped like glue, good stuff

ahhh found one of me PASSING an rx8 in the straights

Thanks for letting me drive your car, Natey! We did wake up the RX-7, didn't we? :D The stock GTX was fun to drive too.

That was a fun weekend. I got the call to go out and instruct on Thursday afternoon so it was also a little hectic. I don't regret it at all...

Please do this event again. I am in the middle of moving to Sacramento, and getting married, but next year... let me check my planner... yep! Any weekend is open for a day at Laguna, or Infineon or... wherever. Do It Again...

In the meantime, Natey, how often do you guys do the fun runs down in the Bay? Sounds like some day trips coming up...

Yeah, garrets77! It'll be cool to have another Protege up in those hills.
Our fun runs are pretty impromptu. If you want, I'll shoot you a PM when we're planning on going, but usually, there's not much notice.

Keith: No, Thank YOU! That was quite a ride...one that I won't forget! (drinks)

Not quite stock, but THANKS! I'm glad you enjoyed driving the car.
I found out that the seals in the brake master cylinder went out (slowly), so that's all repaired.
That spin-out at the corkscrew was fun, too.
Thanks for driving my car, Keith. It was very helpful, and it was a pleasure to meet you.

Cheers,

Terry

Gotta love Laguna, eh??? The last thing I did with my previous car was take it to Laguna... and almost get kicked off for being too loud... It seems the AEM Intake on a Celica GT-S is REALLY loud...

The corkscrew is fun, but you really separate the men and boys in Rainey Curve, the downhill left right AFTER the corkscrew...

A guy in a FD kept getting blackflagged for noise and all he had was an intake, too. I think he ended up wrapping a rag around the air filter. :D

I just ended up pedaling it every time I passed the sound shack before turn 6...

As for Rainey, There's a bit more to go: I was NOT slowing for the turn at all, and if I'd hammered it like you said, I'd have lost it every time... For me, it was all about hitting the apex and rolling into the throttle BEFORE getting there, just like all the racing books say to do. The thing is that I was just a little Loose passing through that corner... In other words, I was fighting to keep the car under me. That's what I get for setting up the car for STS autox, then going to the track....
