Knob and boot

Anybody know where I can get a shifter knob and boot that will fit the stock shifter?? Damn stock knob's speeds sticker is half off, looks horrible. Not to mention I don't like the round ball, I would like something a little more ergonomic. Also as for the boot, anybody know where to get one without a darn draw string. Looks like crap :p

Ryan, go to your favorite search engine...yahoo, google, whatever...and put in SHIFT KNOBS and you will have TONS of hits to start wading through.....MOST places that sell shift knobs sell boots too....

as far as aftermarket knobs go....MANY of them are somewhat universal in the sence that they don't THREAD on like the stock ones do..but rather are held on and in place with a few set screws....

BUT....if you are specifically looking for one to thread on like the stock knob does....the thread pitch on the P-5 and regular Pros is 10 MM x 1.25 .

Ya, that's what I figured. I bought a new knob a couple days ago, and when I installed it, I stripped the screw holes which hold the knob in place. Not the finest quality, but it looked good. I managed to work my way around that little problem, with a bit of plastic tubing, but I wanted to see if any after market Mazda parts were available. I'm just a little nervous that my knobs gonna pop off at the worst possible time:eek:

Remember one thing about shift knobs, ... P5s have the same thread pattern as the Miatas do (don't know what year/gens specifically).

*sigh* i wish i had the luxury of getting a new boot and shifter...

i have an AT and the shifters they have available are ugly!

anyways, if i had a choice of a boot and shifter, i would totally go with nardi's

http://www.nardi-italia.it/

the steering wheels aren't bad too

;)

Actually the auto sport shifters on the new 2002.5 models are quite nice. Because it's gated they didn't have to worry about an OD button, so the shifter is more like a 5 speed one.

all years of miata's have the same thread on the shifter.
