whos to say i dont just buy a new cluster and sell my car with 12miles on it? nothing is preventing it, except for federal "odometer fraud" laws. there are ways to track and "guess" milage according to previous records and such.. it's not worth it to most but it's done.

Is it the cluster that keeps track of the miles? I thought it was all in the ECU. I'm not doing this to get less miles.

without bluntly telling people who may commit said odometer fraud, the first option is probably the most realistic.

You can dismantle the gauge clusters far enough to replace just the needle motors/gauge faces and keep your stock gauge circuit board with the odometer.

I know how to take it apart like the how to, I just need someone to either switch or just send one that they're not using.
