Klunk fix update and Winter Series results

First the latest news, we just finished our third event of the local SCCA winter series event. Times were added from all three events. Between each event, we added a prototype component. The Delsing Motorsport project STX car took fourth overall, beat only by a viper and two z06 vettes!!!! Placed first in STX, if you have been following, we were closing in on last year's reigning top STX car, the M3 bimmer. Well this time we beat him on a very fast road race type course, by over 1.5 seconds! We are almost finished our development, will be installing billet trailing arms in the rear, we designed, and upper rear mounts, this should let us get the rear end set up correctly. Many spectators were really surprised! Praise God, HE is the one who gives us the talent!

The web site has been updated, www.delsingmotorsport.com, not complete yet, but close. Bad news, for a while, is I have to go back in again under the knife, this should be the last time! Feeling like a surgery practice dummy!But, working on all the prototype stuff still, just not at the pace I would like.

Working with a guy on developing a 13 inch diameter, 1.1 inch thick, rotor with Willwood six piston caliper big brake kit! Could be real nice.

Sorry to hear you will be having another surgery, but glad to hear that the last one went well. Good luck once again.

Did anything ever get made from that airbox I sent you? Please let me know as soon as I can get your kit.;)
 
GO DAVE! Great racing, and good luck on the recovery, etc. You getting frequent operation miles for that? Prayer works miracles, we're praying for ya. Let us know on the rear suspension update, and best of health to ya, let us know if there's anything we can do!

Thanks guys, spoke with the surgeon today, everything looks good for the final procedure.

As far as mods to the engine, here they are : K&N filter, that's it! For what we do, first you have to get the power we have down on the road and control it. Leran to feel what it is doing and how it is behaving, then maybe some power mods!

Hey dave, are u experiencing the wheel hop common on the stock suspension with ur kw setup? im hopin someone will figure out the exact cause of it and solve it....stiffer motor mounts dont seem to totally remove the wheel hop....good luck on ur operation and keep us posted :)
 
Wheel hop

Well, I have to say no, I roll start the car then nail it at the start, more effective, saves hardware. So, I really can say I have never experienced the hop people speak of, we run stock mounts.

Any rubber bushings in the suspension will cause wheelhop. The motor mounts help, but the control arm and strut bushings also are to blame for the wheel hop.

Wheel type

From an earlier question,

The wheels are Racing Hart CP 035'S 7.5 x 17, 5mm spacer up front, 225/45-17 Azenis, extended wheel lugs and light alloy lug nuts. Just had to get those alloy lug nuts! Word of caution, do not use any alloy lug nut without installing longer wheel studs! Aluminum requires additional thread engagement, must only be tightened or removed by hand.

what is the cost for the wheel spacers, lugs, and nuts?? can these be run with stock wheels w/out rubbing?

Wheel spacers

As far as the wheel spacers go, they are hub centric on ID and od. German made. My supplier so far supplies them with longer studs for use with the steel lug nuts. For those of you who, like me just had to have the alloy ones, I had to source longer ones for additional thread engagement, which Delsing Motorsport will be stocking.

With stock wheels, you will need some negative camber to clear both front and rear. This was desireable for our project anyway. In the rear, I did "roll" the lip, easy to do with patience. In a day or so, I will post some pics with stock wheels and details of the rear lip roll. Thanks for all the support!
