KL V6: How much horespower?

How much HP do you think is feasable from the 2.5L V6? I know the KL-ZE (JDM) is rated around 200-220 hp stock(about 150-170 whp). But with head work and full engine management (fuel/spark), what kind of numbers do you think we'd be looking at? And some ITBs?

I have a 93 Mazda MX-6 LS 2.5 V-6 that need's an engine right now. I have the stock KL-03 motor in it and 2 tell you the truth, i think that car is a factory freak. It get's up quick. I mean with an intake & exhaust i think it would keep up or beat my MS6 from a roll.

Stock power is rated around 165hp but i think that's underrated or i have a factory freak.

As far as power-wise goes. I think with mod's, tuning, fuily built, and ITB's, you could (PROBABLY) get around 230-250WHP all motor with the KL-03 motor give or take a bit.

I was looking at getting the JDM KL-ZE motor with the ECU and tranny for $1100.

Factory freaks are awesome - i think my FSDE is one as well....along with my clutch.. 12 months of drag racing abuse, stock clutch still going strong (or at least, still working..not as good as it was) and the car does speeds that guys who've spent twice as much are enviable of!

Not 100% sure what you can get out of a KLZE if you mod it silly, as i've never played with one....i do know you can bore and stroke them out to something like 2.7L and build awesome power, but off the top of my head, i wouldn't know what can be gained. 250whp sounds reasonable. Gearbox may be your only issue :P

Yeah but your from australia, so you should have the KLZE motor in yours right??
 
isn't the only difference between the USDM and JDM is higher compression pistons?
