Kill switch

Anyone install a kill switch in their Protege?

I am heading back to school soon, and with the campus being smack dab in the middle of some pretty sketch areas, I want to have the piece of mind of a kill switch.

I know the basics, but was wondering if anyone could walk me through the steps specific for the protege. I.e. materials used, wires to locate, etc.

--Thanks

Is your car manual? If so it would be very easy to put a switch in line with the clutch lock-out switch. The wires are easy to get to and the only materials you'd need are the switch itself.

Ok so whats the easiest way to get to the wiring for the fuel pump, and which wire am I looking to connect the switch into?

you can do it ghetto style like I do sometimes....just pull the injector fuse ^_^

i wanna do the same thing on my car at least until i get money to install an alarm. @Sleezer1533 where did u find the wires?

The wires I used was a good amount of sub-woofer speaker wire left over from some wiring I did to my system.

^^Pull up the rear seats and you will see this cover, un-screw it and you will find a bunch of wires. Give me a couple minutes and Ill find out the color wires you want to connect the switch into.

- I think its the red one with the solid white stripe on it, but lemme double check

ohh s*** thanks a lot. i did it now when i turn the car and the switch off, the car turns on like normal and then it slowly dies lol

the thing is that like a week ago i found the driver side door a little forced and it seem like somebody was trying to open it, but right now i cant afford an alarm so i do this while i get some money to install it
