Keyless Ignition Light on Steady RED

Last week I inadvertantly let the car battery drain completely down. So I got the battery re-charged full, then started the car and began driving into town. That's when I noticed the Keyless Ignition Light by the speedometer was ON and steady RED. No buzzers or flashing, or any other indications. I called the local Mazda service dept, and they made an appointment for me in a couple days. They also said that they had never heard of this problem. They said that it was OK to drive if it would start up, and keep running down the road.

When I got home, I re-connected the battery charger and it indicates a full charge. I also changed the keyless fobs in my pocket, and nothing changed.

Might this be a fault I can correct by re-setting the electrical system by disconnecting the battery for an hour or so, then reconnecting the cables???

I have a 2009 Mazda Sport Touring

Re-set the ECU

Last night, I disconnected the ( - ) cable from the battery for about 45 minutes, then re-connected it. The fault light is gone, and the car is running perfectly. Must just be like doing a hard boot on my computer.

I also phoned the dealer, and told him that I no longer require their assistance.
