Galaxy grey mazda 5
Hi, took delivery of my mazda5 and i'm thrilled!
In the next few days/week i'll be looking for a deflector and was looking for alternative (if any) to the OEM mazda one. Now, i know there are other stuff out there like the magnetic bra or clean bra but i'm not interested in them.

Is there in canada, other companies other than mazda that offer a "plastic" deflector? and are they different in sizes/material...

Other quick question regarding mudguards, is there any options?
The dealer said there wasn't any OEM ones but didn't said it couldn't be done.
So what are my options ther also.

Thank you.

I believe there is a OEM plastic bug deflector you can buy in Canada. I'm 99.9% sure zoom5zoom has one or can get you one.

As for the mudguards, there hasn't been much success in finding one that fits the touring. You can get them from Mazda for the sport... well, at least down here in the states you can.

:)

mine is a GS, forgot to put it in my signature.
So why was i told it wasn't available (mudguards)? is this a US vs CAN thing?

thanks

Heya

As for the bug deflector it is a great option as the leading edge of the hood is really flat and rocks seem to dent then just deflect off the hood. As for a "none MAZDA" deflector I would not recommend. I know mazda does extensive testing on the unit. Points of interest are: Vibrations, Windnoise, Shape and how it covers the hood.

I think the mazda unit rocks and if you need pic I can post.

Mudguards.... Because our Mazda 5 has Side sills we don't supply mudflaps which have a mould to fit this sill and attach to wheel well. Maybe in near future there will be one but keep looking I think someone did it on the forum but can't remember who... btw here is link of the americain version of the 5 with mudflaps and NO side sills http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123667442
merci eh

thanks for the quick response.
I'll be paying the dealer a visit then.

On another note (don't know if i should start another thread for this)
I have a "door ajar" this morning and all door closes okay but the car won't lock. We had snow with powerfull wind and i was wondering if the 2007 had the new hatch stated in a recall?

I'll go check it out at lunch time today to see if it locks.
How's that for a first morning....
Thanks.
