The EVO is as close as you can get to a rally car for the street. The STi wouldn't be legal (2.5l engine - more torque).

Yep. Thus the reason the JDM STi's have always been 2.0L. However the new, ugly, Tribeca faced, STi is coming in 2.5L in Japan. They gotta catch up to the 36k EVO MR!

From over a year of ownership, I can verify every single word of this post.

Lag does not exist on the STi. The car can start out in 3rd gear on a hill and still be flying in no time. Even though the 04 was supposed to not be all that good in handling, I though it was great, atleast for me.

So whyyyy DID you trade the STi? Traded for Mazdaspeed 6s? Isn't that pretty expen$ive as well?!

I can say...it surely has put my hopes to buy a home back a few years. It's not necessarily the monthly payment that gets me...it's the insaine insurance premium on the STi's in NJ! $3500 @ 27 y/o, with NO points! (hand)

I can't can't justify not owning a real home and having a $32K car. Its just irresponsible and generaly foolish. What really makes me shake the old head was those that I knew who had an STi and lived in a damn appartment. (pow)
