First off. Is there any noticeable difference between it and the stock shifter? I've never installed one, so is it farely easy to install and how do you go about doing it?
How do you go about installing the bushins? I heard from a friend that you can jack the engine up a little from underneath to replace them, But I thought I would try to get some expert opinions on it first. And whats best to replace them all or just the front?

YES, you will notice a huge difference, you don't need to jack up the engine, just the car, the bushings are sitting under the transaxle, easy to access and the shifter you just take out your console and remove the stock one. definitly worth the money and anyone with even minimal mechanical sense can figure it out. get the package a great price for a great product!

The package comes with the shifter bushings doesn't it? How much does it shorten the throw?

enough, and the bushings are what really make the difference

In the how to section it gives instructions on how to install the shifter and bushings but which style would you follow, the pace setter or the b&m style? I'm sure it comes with an installation manual, and I'm going to definetly going to buy it, but I am just a little curious.

Ok, I haven't driven a P5, but I thought the MSP had a shorter shifter than the other proteges... can anyone who has driven a MSP with and without the kartboy short shifter share their opinion?

i've driven both.

The shifters sit around the same hieght, but once you start shifting the difference is really noticable. the kartboy has noticably shorter throws.

Being used to my kartboy, i was grabbin at air shifting the msp because the throw was long than i was used to.

The MSP and MP3 have the same shifter, it is about one inch shorter than the standard Protege/5 above the pivot, and the same length below.

The Kartboy shifter will shorten the throw on an MSP about one inch and is longer after the pivot.

From what I take from his post he is also asking about motor mounts. They make a difference, but there is a debate over whether you need to replace both or just one. If you replace both, there will be a lot of vibration from the engine which is why many just replace the front motor mount, because it takes away wheel hop with minimal vibration. Also, you can install them by jacking up the motor a little.
