hi i read the instructions but i don't really get a clue out of those instructions...

could anybody explain the procedure with some simple drawing/sketch (especially how to orientate the "stepped" sides of the bushings?!)

in like 14h i have an appointment with a mech at my mazdadealer and i wouldn't want him to screw up or to make the installation take more time than neccessary... pls help with some simple explanations.

the stepped side is like the brim of a top hat if you will...the bottom, the part that would rest on the ground right side up...the part that sits on your head goes towards the sides of the car aka facing out, hope this helps........

your having the mazda dealership install it for u? if u r why? its like a 30 min install with hand tools....

very low temps outside, no possibility to jack the car up etc...

that's where my problems are...
(btw: correct the orientation of the kb bushings, if necessary..)

throw away the old bushings (the huge rubber piece) and you are done! the other piece is part of your shift linkage obviously that remains! the second KB Bushing needs to be flipped around (the one furthest away from the nut)

your set up is CORRECT! lubricant isnt THAT important but it would help, the tough part is removing the stock one...if you arent going to EVER use the stock bushing, do what i did and cut it off with a knife, much easier! GOOD LUCK! hope i helped

hm was installed within 10mins today..neither the rubber bushings, nor the metal sleeve in the middle were a pita to remove..actually it was done with 1 quick movement of the hand..i was surprised... shifting is pretty funny now..not a bit harder, but "different".. pushing the gears in/out seems to be more precise, but a certain slopiness rmains.. but that comes from the stupid bushings at the lower end of the short shifter's linkage...

and: lubrication... having the parts in my hand i wouldn't know why it would be useful to lubricate the bushings... hm,nevermind... shifting is a lot nicer now! (first)
